CU and CSU are expected to sign off on another home-and-home campus deal The Rocky Mountain Showdown lives on into the next decade with the announcement for a home-and-home series between the Colorado and Colorado State, as first reported by Matt Stephens of the Denver Post. No issue scheduling occasional games with little brother, as long as those games are on campus. Besides, there is no guarantee that CSU will even have a football team 10 years from now.

I hear they'll not only have a team, but it will be in the Big 12.

I hear they'll not only have a team, but it will be in the Big 12.

CSU will get their dream and join the Big 12 (which will actually include 15 teams.)

It will however be the "new" Big 12 after UT, OU, OSU, KU, WVU, and TCU head on to other conferences leaving the remaining schools to scramble picking up a bunch of G5 teams to maintain a viable conference.

Baylor will of course sue and when they lose they will blame CU for keeping them out of the PAC. Ken Starr by now using a walker will lose yet another case.

As much as we bitch about the game in Denver, there’s a little part of me that will miss it. Maybe it’s because the DPD has stopped their typical practice of utilizing gestapo style crowd control in recent years. Maybe it’s because we are on a four game winning streak. Whatever the reason, I’n ten years, I’ll remember the Denver games with some fondness. Not that I’d rather them there than on campus, but the novelty is kind of fun.

Regardless of your feelings on the RMS, can we all agree that the wording in the headline is terrible? I almost had a heart attack thinking we had agreed to play little brother for another 14 years.

Back on the campuses is where this game belongs if it is played.

CSU needs this game though much more than we do. They have much more to lose by not playing it.

We need to change the idea that we are equal partners in the game. This should have been negotiated to a 2 for 1 or at least a 3 for 2 deal.

Without us how many opponents do they have who they can reasonably expect to come close to selling out their new white elephant of a stadium.
