Manning Passing Academy

I don’t know all of those guys, but it looks like viska is the only non QB there. Boss.

And, if you click the link to the twitter post that shows the chart, you’ll see a complaint about CU getting two counselors. Suck it, fuskers.

"Viska to Nixon for the 40 yard TD puts the Buffs up 37-20 late in the fourth quarter against the Corn" is what Mark Johnson will be saying on 850KOA

book it !!
You forgot “trips right, Viska in the gun...”

In a sports market like the Denver metro area, having a "voice of the Buffs" like Mark Johnson is a blessing, not a curse.

I know that he can be a little overboard, but someone in the press needs to be.
I like him.
He loves the Buffs and is able to be a homer without going overboard.

No he doesn't match the good national guys but he is much better than most local guys.

The problem with mark johnson is not that he goes overboard. His problem is that he doesn't tell the listener what happens before going off on a tangent mid-sentence, which is a big problem for a play by play guy.

Don’t think you can get much more of a specific prediction than that. Well done.

I got you... curious, are you one of those Bill Walton fans?

I do, in fact, like bill walton. If he were doing play by play on the radio, where I am forced to depend entirely on the play by play guy to know what just happened, I might like him much less.

Walton does color commentary, not play by play.

I know he's a "color guy" but please, if you abhor tangents, you have no leg to stand on.

Walton is awesome when he talks basketball, otherwise he is the reason a mute button was installed on the remote. Obviously, each to their own. I'm just thankful to someone that seems legitimately excited about CU sports calling the games. Zim couldn't last forever.

Is it ok that I like both Mark Johnson and Bill Walton? Neither is a cookie cutter corporate snooze fest. Both care deeply about the players, institutions and sports they cover. Both are mostly about the people.

I do understand why some people prefer a broadcaster who is more in the background and unobtrusively describes the action, occasionally dropping the info nugget when there's a lull. But I find that boring.

Walton is awesome.

I don't mind info nuggets. But tell me what happens first, then ramble. I took 3 years of high school german, so I’m familiar with convoluted sentence structure, but good lord. Most of the time MJ needs a private detective to find his long lost point.

So are most people associated with CU, but god love 'em.

I heard some chick give a speech 20 years ago that was super high faluten academic during her undergrad career. I walked up to my fellow alum and proudly reminisced about the drinking, skiing, and partying capped of with “it was the best four years of my life”.

When I looked up she was boring laser beam holes thru my soul having worked much harder than I did. We were clearly were not going to get married.

And you are much better off for it.

(Both having a good time and not marrying the girl)

MJ is awesome! So is GB. They do a great job together.
GB is actually the one guy on the broadcast team I don’t like.

Honestly, if they could pry Klatt away, that’s who I’d want. Although there are plenty of people who hate him. And of the local radio guys, I like Jerry Schimmel (spelling?)
