SIAP, but I scanned the PS at Barnes and Noble as I picked up my copy of Lindy's...depressing tidbit, CU is 0-10 in games where bowl eligibility was on the line. 10 in a row...mind bottling.
That's incredible. Don't know if you could do that if you tried.
Oh, and I just got back to my desk from Barnes and Noble with my Phil Steele.

I agree that they have a ton to replace on defense, but they've got Ehlinger and Collin Johnson coming back and what should be a pretty stable O-line. Texas always has solid backfields and Ingram could be set for a breakout year as the guy. In the Big XII, we're all aware defense plays second fiddle. If another receiver can become a weapon, I don't see many people being able to slow down Texas (read: Ehlinger) enough to out score them.

i really like ISU's size on the LOS, for the Big XII. physical.
a while back people were talking about CU recruiting Arizona since ASU and UA were dogging it and not "cool" among recruits......Purdy from ISU and OU's new 5 star stud QB recruit are both from Arizona/Phoenix area if i recall.
Purdy's first start he beat Ok State in Stillwater.....I listened to that game driving across I-40 with my uncle who is an excellent dude and OSU grad.

LSU, RRS, and a decently challenging road schedule (Iowa State, TCU, WVU) has me thinking they are 8-4/9-3 territory.
I thought WVU was supposed to take a pretty big step back this year?
I don't expect much from WVU. They lost a ton on offense and that defense needs to be completely rebuilt.

Yep. Their skill positions are bottom to middle half but might have the best oline in the big 12
They will not be very good, but it can still be a tough road game for Big 12 teams.
Someone may have already said this but Michigan's schedule sets up very well.

I just took a look. It's certaibly somewhat favorable but they still draw the toughest two teams from the other division, play Wisky and Penn State on the road, and face Notre Dame in OOC.
Our defense wasn't particularly good from the start of the season (gave up an average of 32 ppg in conference play). When USC solved our offense, which it apparently wasn't that hard to do, Chev had no counterpunch. I do believe loss of confidence was a factor in the last three games. Just appeared to be going through the motions at the end of the season.

There is no offense that works when you can't consistently block. The OL was weak and got taken advantage of.
On defense we were thin on the DL. Teams figured out that they could wear down the front seven then run over us.
My bad I was actually thinkinig of Nebraska's schedule that sets up very well in the B1G. They get Wiscy and Iowa at home in their division and only play one of the top 4 from the East - OSU and they get them at home.
That sets up well if you're a contender. For a team like Nebraska that's hoping to gag its way to bowl eligibility, it's horrible. The best teams will beat them wherever they play and the mediocre teams are much more likely to get a win in their own home.

It's all relative and they're a contender given the division they're in. They were a better team the 2nd half of last year (at least on the offensive side) and let's be honest, they had a few tough losses early on including our game. Are they a contender nationally? Hell no, but I think they're a legitimate contender in the B1G West
Then the B1G West is garbage if you can take a team like Nebraska and say that are a contender considering the 4 year run we talked about lately. I hope Northwestern wins that division, always felt a connection to NW with Barnett there.
