Pac-12 Media Day 7/24

I think it’s clear they are trying to promote the best players. This is all calculated. Viska is a super star and Landman is on the cusp of being a household name. Promoting the stars promotes the program. It’s the same mentality they are taking by very clearly promoting Tucker and making him the face of the entire program.

Yes, but Montez going last year made it a really easy decision.

From outside perspective, Montez in-game mannerisms are not great and if he does that during games for all to see, I can only imagine how he acts behind the scenes. I imagine coaches picked up on this quickly over the spring.

I fully support Viska & Landman representing CU at media days. They are standard bearers we are trying to set again for this program.

He didn't throw his frat sign up at all last year and even then, if that's the worst thing he's done as far as "in-game mannerisms" are concerned, that's fine by me. Kind of poor taste for you to assume a kid is poorly behaved because he likes the frat he's in. Unless you know him personally, maybe back off the character attacks? All we know is that he probably hasn't shown enough leadership to be given the C on the jersey.

Of course they are going to send Viska to represent the offense. He's known nationally by college football fans and is projected by many pundits as an upper-first-round draft pick.

Not doing so would be about the dumbest thing ever.

I wish he'd announce that the Pac-12 offices were moving to Nevada and salaries would be benchmarked to what other conferences pay their executives, but I know neither of those things is going to happen.

Maybe we'll get something on Pac-12 Network being addd to some cord cutter platforms. Desperately needed. In some Western states, the percentage of tv households that get their tv from cable is as low as 20%.

Having the Pac-12 basically annex Nevada would be a good move, even if you don't bring UNLV or UN-R on board. Makes the offices pretty central to everyone, reduces travel costs, reduces office overhead, reduces salaries... oh. wait.

Pac-12 really needs to move their offices and the P12N to Las Vegas in a big way. Much cheaper cost of living there compared to the Bay Area. If it adds another million or two to the P12N payouts per team, this move needs to happen NOW!

Be good to have the game played someplace where they can actually look like they have a crowd for it.

Vegas is so much easier for the fans of the participating teams to book and they will probably get a decent number of fans who will buy tickets and book even before they know who will be in the game.

If the flights/hotels/ticket costs were right (and early December isn't exactly prime Vegas vacation time), I could totally see booking a guy's weekend to go see the game without knowing the teams in advance.

More importantly: I could actually see fans of teams in other conferences doing the same thing.

PAC 12 offices and media should be in LA, the center of media in the conference footprint. Moving to a media outpost like Vegas makes no sense for the conference.
