The pirate has never won like Lincoln Riley, Urban Meyer, and Jimbo have.
I’m skeptical of this l, at least during his Florida days
Dan Mullen called the plays, a big reason he was hired by Mississippi State. Tom Herman and Ryan Day called plays at Ohio State.

Yeah, but he's won his side of the ball decisively, which was the point.
He also has never coached at a destination.
The unusual thing about Urban is that he designed the offense and was very involved in the analytics of what works. He has just never been an OC or a play caller.
His big finding was that scoring is most tied to generating explosive plays. And an offshoot of that is that more big plays are created, more 2nd half dominance is achieved, and better defense is played by your team that has an explosive offense -- if you generate the big plays from a foundation of power football.
It's a pretty brilliant design for a college offense and I hope to see a lot of those concepts from Johnson. Johnson's philosophies seem to be in that same lane. Here's hoping.

The pirate is his own dude-I think he thinks Washington State is a destination job lol. Seems like the type who needs to be in a place where its really hard to win if you're not doing something gimmicky.
He was very interested in the Tennessee job. That would have been really cool to see.
