2020 Draft Buffs

To me the O/U on Buffs drafted should be set at 2.5. Laviska is a lock. Hard to see one of Montez/Taylor not getting drafted. Some wildcards beyond that.
 
I could see Montez going to the Bills to find someone with similar skill sets as Allen.

Now as a Bills fan this scares the hell out of me, but I see it as very plausible.

I also am seeing Viska mocked to the Buffalo and would love to see him with Allen.

Viska would be a great fit. After playing three years with Montez he is used to catching balls from a guy with a cannon who most of the time can't hit the broad side of a barn if it is open. Also used to a guy who hangs receivers out to dry for free shots by DBs.

Actually saw a few and I like Allen. Like where he came from and hope he has a quality career.

He was significantly better this year than last and showed some real development. He is though still a sub 60% passer and the games I saw him play a number of his completions took an effort by the receivers because they weren't exactly thrown with Manning or Brady like precision.

He does make up for some of that though by throwing deep well enough to force defenses to respect the entire field and his mobility forces defenses to cover longer and to also respect his ability to make important gains on the ground. Also he is learning to be smarter about when to run and protecting himself when he does.

Still though needs to get better in terms of accuracy throwing the ball and averaging close to a fumble per game is not a good thing.
 
If the Broncos can get Laviska with the 46 pick that would be a steal.

I saw one mock this week with him projected to them at the 15. I'd rather that pick to an OL but if he is still there in the middle of the second it would be hard to pass him up.

I could even see if he doesn't go in the first Denver packaging a couple picks to move up closer to the front of the second round to make sure they get him.
 
I’d love for Viska to land in Denver, but I don’t want him being a “steal”. Hopefully he is picked where he is deserving, and he is healthy and ready to play at his full potential. The kid is brilliant!
 
Mel Kiper looks like an alien from “Mars Attacks!”

ESPN thinks Viska could be one of 7 WR’s to go in the first round and/or one of 12 in the first two rounds.
 
The Athletic put out a story on the WR class and Shenault is referred identified as having the highest bust potential of all the top WRs.

LAVISKA SHENAULT, Colorado (6-0 ½, 227, 4.58, 2-3): Classic boom-or-bust prospect. “Mental and injury,” one scout replied when asked why Shenault was his choice to bust. “He’s always been the best guy on his team. You put him in one position and he’s just going to flounder. He’s head and shoulders in the bust factor above everyone else. I wouldn’t be surprised if he has a big fall.” Played split end for the Buffaloes but also did extensive damage as a ‘wildcat’ quarterback. “Little bit immature but, my God, is he big and powerful,” a second scout said. “His ’18 film was way better than his ’19 film. He’s a power guy, and those guys play.” He’s coming off of core muscle surgery in late February and also has had shoulder and turf toe surgery. “He’s kind of got some Cordarrelle Patterson to him in terms of his role,” a third scout said. “Not as explosive. With that body type, I don’t see A.J. Brown. A.J. made so many contested catches and was so productive for three years. A.J. was a receiver when he came out. This guy is an athlete. He’ll have to make a transition to a receiver, and I think he’s going to have a tough time.” Finished with 149 catches for 1,943 (13.0) and 10 TDs. “He’s not bad, just not a lot of personality,” said a fourth scout. “Kind of low-key.” Wonderlic of 14. Small hands (9). A third-year junior from DeSoto, Texas.

He’s a late bloomer, a three-star rated prospect in the 2017 signing class who spent his middle school and high school freshman days on DeSoto’s ‘B’ team. “He wasn’t a guy that as a sophomore you knew was going to be great,” says Todd Peterman, Viska’s head coach. He played junior varsity as a sophomore, caught only 27 passes as a junior and finally bust out with nine touchdowns as a senior, regularly clocking 22 miles an hour in games and leading the Eagles to a 16–0 record and their first state championship.

Laviska Shenault Jr. and his story of perseverance

Colorado sophomore Laviska Shenault Jr. went from underrated prospect to leading the nation in recieving yards per game. Coming from a close-knit family challenged with the toughest of situations, Shenault has always been fueled by competition.
