NBA (and other pro league) Buffs

Givony and Woo have Tristan Da Silva in the Top-25 of the NBA Draft. https://www.espn.com/nba/insider/story/_/id/38788364/2024-nba-draft-rankings-espn-top-25-prospects Tristan is at 18 and Cody is at 9. Bobi Klintman the one-time Buff commit is at 23 and Dalton Knecht at 8. His last 15 or so...

2024 NCAA tournament general games thread

It's what we are seeing with CU too. Right now Luke O'Brien is a better college basketball player (and a better fit for the starting 5) then Cody. I still expect Cody to be a good NBA player and I love that a Buff might get drafted in the NBA Lottery, it's great for future recruiting. Here's a...

NCAA 2024 Tourney game thread - #10 seed MEN's Bball - 1st 4 game vs. fellow #10 Boise State (In Dayton; Wed., 3/20, 7:10 PM MT; TruTV)

With the way NBA salaries are going... I wanted to give a conservative estimate that I thought was likely.

Disagree. He's the 6th-7th man for an NBA title contender as a 21 year old. His 3-pt % is trending upwards and he is starting to realize his defensive upside as a 4 position defender and weak side rim protector. Barring injury he will likely make over $100 million in his career.

    CU MBB Rankings/NET/KenPom/Bracketology Catch-All

I find some of the reasoning around the NET to be highly circular, especially when it comes to talking about Quad 1 wins. CU is 26 in the NET, Seton Hall is 65. But East coast pundits who can't stay up late enough to watch West coast basketball will cry, Seton Hall has a 5-8 Quad 1 record vs...

    Other games & teams thread

Florida State beats Va Tech. Good result for the Buffs, will boost the NET of Florida State and Va Tech's bubble is popped. @torero beat me to it.

Games thread- MEN'S bball ends regular season on the road @ Oregon (Thursday, 3/7/24, 7:00 PM MT; ESPN2) & OSU (Saturday, 3:00 PM MT; Pac-12 Networks)

Colorado is effectively in the post season in the sense that every win matters. Gotta ride with the PAC-12 player of the year.

The NET likes road wins, even over bad teams?

Tad Boyle is the Greatest Coach in CU Men’s Basketball History

The team goes on a 4 game win streak, talk of firing Tad intensifies. The doom prophets on this board must be sensing we get sweeped on the Oregon roadie.

Games thread- MEN'S BBall hosts Utah (Sat., 2/24/24; 7:00 PM MT; Pac-12), Cal (Wed., 2/28, 6:00 PM; Pac-12) and Stanford (Sun., 7:00 PM; FS1)

27 pts and 11 rebounds for Tristan on Senior night. Even though he's been inconsistent I think he outperformed everyone's expectations when he first arrived in Boulder.

A stat similar to +/- is Win Shares. We can look at Win Shares per 40 (WS/40) because Win Shares is a cumulative stat and we want to adjust for how long a player is on the floor. CU's top 7 KJ Simpson: 0.243 J'Vonne Hadley 0.170 Tristan Da Silva: 0.164 Cody Williams: 0.139 Luke O'Brian: 0.122...

    CU MBB Rankings/NET/KenPom/Bracketology Catch-All

It's funny you mention that. The latest ESPN bracketology has Texas A&M 15-11 50 NET as last 4 bye and Ole Miss as last 4 in and CU as next 4 out. https://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/page/bracketology/ncaa-bracketology-2024-march-madness-men-field-predictions It's the one hope CU has...

    CU MBB Rankings/NET/KenPom/Bracketology Catch-All

The only thing I worry is they are trying to build the narrative that Colorado should be out. That way they can let a couple of BIG 10 teams with lower NET in and it won't be a "surprise".

Games thread- MEN'S bball on the road @ UCLA (Thursday, 2/15/24, 7:00 PM MT; ESPN) & USC (Saturday, 8:00 PM MT; ESPN)

Ellis is good, and Collier will be in the NBA next year. Collier reminds me a little of James Harden. Kobe Johnson looked good and Morgan is an NBA caliber shot-blocker even though the rest of his game lacks polish. We won't get as much credit for beating USC this weekend as we deserve but that...

Tad Boyle is the Greatest Coach in CU Men’s Basketball History

Let's just be realistic about the trade offs. By high floor I mean under Tad we have seen some mediocre teams and we've seen some pretty good teams that gave us memorable moments. We've had some bad luck (Dinwiddie injury). But under Tad we've rarely seen a bad team. Let's say the odds (based...

Tad Boyle is the Greatest Coach in CU Men’s Basketball History

I love Malone. He's an above average NBA coach, but the NBA is players league. The only reason I brought him up is because people wanted to fire him too.

Tad Boyle is the Greatest Coach in CU Men’s Basketball History

You are comparing to one of the top-5 most successful mid-major programs, one that happens to be located in a recruiting hot bed with tons of success before Dutcher ever stepped foot on campus. If your expectation is that CU can replicate the success San Diego St. has had over the last decade...
