    It's not good when there is video directly contradicting the claim that coached didn't try to "coach" him. I only watch a bit of the footage, and even I saw HCP working with him repeatedly. He is going to make himself look bad, and less than honest, if he's not careful.

    I don't know about gushing. The Coach was talking about how he needed to work on catching the ball and winning contested balls. If a TE can't do those things, he's pretty much a blocking H-back.

    I see him as a unique momentum player: Whichever side of the ball needs a boost (even as part of a weekly game plan), he can spend more time on that side.

    This happened mid-semester, almost immediately after HCP ripped into some players for being disrespectful to profs and focusing on NIL to the exclusion of school. Correlation does not imply causation, but it is interesting.

    Dang. I just love the way he handled that. I was never disrespectful in any college class, but I definitely was not focused on school much of the time, at first: I recall one Astronomy class I showed up one less time than there were tests. lol So, I get that part, from a student perspective...

    Oh man, I remember how much we loved the Alumni game. We would sit down low in the stands and just laugh our asses off. There was some really great fun being had out of the field in those days. I don't recall ever seeing one after about 1988ish(?). But I have a horrible memory for those things.

    I agree it probably works for us with HCP, but man this really shows just how tilted the rich schools want to make the playing field—as if it isn’t ridiculous already. If college football wasn’t my one real “fan” sport, I’d be hesitant to get into it too deep. I don’t like the rigged in favor...
