  1. Italy hoops schedule

Front-center is next year's starting point guard (McKinley Wright). Battey is over McKinley's right shoulder in the back row, wearing the gold shirt.
  2. Pac-12 News

Not sure Simmons had much of a role with Arizona this year, had he returned to school. He was already relegated to a bench role last season, once Trier was back from is suspension. I think Simmons made the correct decision- go to Europe a year early, because he wasn't going to improve draft...
  3. 2017 NBA Draft & CU Pro Prospects

The Nuggets have been in the lottery 13 times. 7 times, they've dropped and 6 times they've stayed put. The highest pick they've had in the lottery years is #3, which is hilarious considering the Lakers suck for 3 straight years and somehow end up with 3 straight #2 picks.
  4. 2017 NBA Draft & CU Pro Prospects

A perfect situation for Derrick! Playing for one of the best coaches in NBA history, a team with aging guards that need replaced, and several superstars who can teach him how to lead a the NBA level.
  5. Which returning MBB player busts out this year?

Tory's numbers will jump, assuming he can limit the fouls to some degree. I see him around 12/8 if he can play 25-30 minutes a night. Siewert should also see an increase, especially if he works on his defensive footwork and adds some bulk before November.
  6. Boyle drops the Dre comparison with Bey

Agree, Spencer was a great leader at CU. I'm not meaning any disrespect to Spencer or what he accomplished. Spencer is one of the best to wear the CU uniform. We didn't get to see White's leadership, because he was put into an almost impossible position of instantly taking over leadership of...
  7. Boyle drops the Dre comparison with Bey

Taking away shots from Ski would have been a good thing. White's a much better shooter (.507/.396/.813 versus .389/.272/.818). Ski was always a volume shooter. White was an extremely efficient scorer from the guard spot. Keep in mind, White was the best player on the floor when CU beat...
  8. Boyle drops the Dre comparison with Bey

The 13-14 team with Spencer healthy the entire season is a sweet 16 squad. The 13-14 team with last season's White is a final four contender. Spencer had a team with chemistry and a true post to work with. Regardless, I just hope one of next year's freshmen ends up as good as either of them.
  9. Boyle drops the Dre comparison with Bey

We had a better Dinwiddie on last year's team.
  10. 2017 Coaching Carousel

I think his botched back surgery and subsequent pain has left him as a coach much older than he actually is. I think the pain has taken away some of his coaching desire and the players saw that. He lost his entire prized 2015 recruiting class to transfer and wasn't going to recover from that...
  11. Season Ticket Renewals?

Mine too, but still a great deal. Hopefully the increase doesn't scare away renewals.
  12. '17 TRNFR PG Kendall Smith (Committed to Oklahoma State)

Frustrating that Kendall Smith won't visit, but I'd argue that Schwartz/Battey/Bey is good evidence that Boyle replaced what Abatemarco brought.
  13. Peters and Akyazili Leaving (official)

Based on engagement from the bench, always joining the huddle, always talking with other players during pre-game shoot arounds and a conversation we had during the team signing event after a game last season, I have hopes that Namon Wright will become a leader.
  14. Wichita State to AAC?

The UNM game is at Coors this coming season, then at The Pit in 2018.
  15. Official NCAA Tourney & Allbuffs Bracket Challenge Thread

Is this an early April fool's joke, since the games aren't played until April fools day? I'm hoping for a western matchup in the final, but really tough to pick against either Carolina at this point.
  16. Wilner places Colorado among bottom 4 Pac-12 jobs in MBB

Exactly. Seattle metro has to be the most underrated basketball recruiting hotbed in the country. In the past 20 years, here are some names from metro Seattle high school basketball... Jason Terry Jamal Crawford Aaron Brooks Marvin Williams Rodney Stuckey Spencer Hawes Brandon Roy Tony Wroten...
  17. Recruiting the right kind of dogs

I call serious BS on that point. You would rip into Tad if he was volunteering instead of being paid.
  18. Recruiting the right kind of dogs

I know what those guys did this year, decent seasons but how would they have improved CU this past season? Did they play with fire, determination and discipline?
  19. Recruiting the right kind of dogs

I assume you were thrilled with the Tre'shaun (offers from UCLA, Gonzaga), Hopkins (Arizona, USC), Thomas (Oklahoma) class? Want to wager that this incoming class with fewer big-time offers ends up significantly better than that class did? As Buffnik said, there are translatable skills that...
  20. Recruiting the right kind of dogs

For those who remember Dom Collier's recruiting (and point to Dom as being as stiff now), he was offered by the following schools... Arizona UCLA Oregon Gonzaga Just a reminder that winning a recruiting battle against the big boys doesn't guarantee you've landed a superstar.
