  1. Coaching carousel....

http://sports-at-work.com/201112071046/SEC/breaking-news-former-miami-head-coach-randy-shannon-new-dc-for-arkansas.html Only place it has been reported so far. But sources seem to think this is the hire.
  2. Coaching carousel....

Rumor is Randy Shannon is in Fayetteville to interview for Arkansas' vacant DC position.
  3. Best NCAA Helmets

I'm personally a fan of CU and Arkansas in that list. Two of the most unique mascots in college FB. CU definitely has the more traditional color scheme with the Black/Gold.
  4. CU's Proposed Capital Projects List

IMO football facility upgrades should occur first. Those being an indoor facility, improving Dal Ward or providing the FB team with a much more up to date area to lift weights...better locker room, meeting rooms, etc. Folsom could use improved video boards and some touch ups (but I don't see the...
  5. Holy **** KSU grew some balls!

That is true. Definitely not bashing CU's OOC this season. It's definitely a strong schedule, and I think overall the PAC schedule will be tougher than what CU had been facing in what had been a "down" Big 12 North for the past few years. Not bashing CU at all, just saying that he shouldn't bash...
  6. Holy **** KSU grew some balls!

Yawn... when you play a conference schedule consisting of as many as six or more ranked teams per year then come talk to me.
  7. Holy **** KSU grew some balls!

Why? We play A&M, and Troy who is typically the best team in the SunBelt. I'm sorry but when you have to play ranked teams in conference week in and week out (even though the conference schedule actually lines up pretty nicely for us this year with our SEC East draw), then two or three easy...
  8. boise state in ncaa trouble

Jerry Tarkanian once said the NCAA is so mad at Kentucky it put Cleveland State on probation. Some things never change.
  9. Basketball Coaching Carousel

Missouri is greatly divided allegiance wise. You have tons of Illinois, Kansas, K-State, and Arkansas fans all across the state. That's just a few of the schools that have sizable fanbases in Missouri. St. Louis and KC markets also don't really support the Tigers at all.
  10. Have players gotten better under Boyle?

I definitely think the players have gotten better as the year has gone on. New coach and a new system = a learning curve. But CU, despite some inconsistency, has improved as the year has gone on. I think Boyle is a very good coach but like I have said in other threads, I will be interested to...
  11. Boyle's contract

You say this now. But we were the same way with John Pelphrey after his first year at AR. I think Boyle is a good coach, but let him do it for a couple of years with his own guys first.
  12. Boyle's contract

I'd say maybe a slight pay raise and maybe a one year extension. Year two is gonna be tough for Boyle if Burks leaves. He inherited a team with a very solid group of senior players (Higgins, Knutson, Relphorde) and then he had Burks who is one of the best players in the country. If they are all...
  13. Good article on Mallett and Jimmy Smith

It's a good article because all the crap being spewed about both players is total BS. Smith is a fantastic CB who will do well in the NFL. All the drug rumors about Mallett are just that... rumors. And the BS about him being dumb... sure he isn't a great speaker, but he is a film rat who is one...
  14. Basketball Coaching Carousel

As an Arkansas fan I have to say I'm excited about the hire. I hope Nolan Richardson expectations aren't put on him. However, he reached a Sweet 16 at UAB and an Elite 8 at Mizzou. Arkansas has a much better tradition, history, facilities, etc., than either of those programs. The ceiling is just...
  15. Forbes: Football earnings in Big 12

This is true. It would be better to invest money in facilities for the athletes right now. Perhaps those would in turn benefit recruiting and help to put a better product on the field. Once that product is out there, and demand is up, then perhaps it would be time to think about expanding...
  16. Good article on Mallett and Jimmy Smith

  17. 3/13 Spring practice report

It's good for them. Same thing happened at Arkansas when we went from Nutt to Petrino. Lots of standing around with Nutt, and Petrino's practices were hyper intense (I'll never forget Petrino grabbing DJ William's facemask and chewing his ass and screaming you just cost a TD MF'er because he...
  18. NCAA Tourney Selection Show - Sunday @ 4pm on CBS

CU got screwed... should have been in over USC and Clemson there.
  19. Top 10 program rumored to be in NCAA crosshairs

That's true, and I won't argue that Oregon has great facilities. However, Arkansas' are pretty damned impressive too. http://web.thisisarkansasfootball.com/website/ Check out the facilities tab on the top of that site. And what we have broken ground on and will have in the next two years...
  20. Top 10 program rumored to be in NCAA crosshairs

Anthony Wallace is what I have heard as well. At Arkansas we thought we had him locked down. Named us his leader, had us there for several months, and was all but ours. Suddenly takes a visit to Oregon, a school he hadn't mentioned at all, and commits there shortly thereafter. Then there is the...
