  1. Offensive Line

Sorry if this has been answered, but do we know what's happening with Fillip? Rumors suggested he was leaving. Then he wasn't. Then other rumors suggested he wasn't working out with the team...?
  2. 2018 CU Defensive Sacks O/U Thread

Over. For the first time in the HCMM era, he has depth and talent across the front 7. We can brink heat from multiple places this year (LB, BB, S, DE). Unless the DC messes it up, we should definitely be 'over'.
  3. Sefo's last

Sefo: most underappreciated great Buff of all time. He kept us in so many games early in his career, only to get blamed when he wasn't able to carry the whole team alone (that Cal game two years ago comes to mind). We're really going to miss this kid.
  4. Passing

We scored 49 points last night. Our offense, despite the OL issues, was incredibly efficient. It wasn't perfect, so people worry, but I think Arizona put one of their best efforts of the year out there on the field yesterday and we still beat them by more than three touchdowns. Am I nervous...
  5. Sounds like we're going with a 3-man front

Thanks Bufnik. I missed this thread.
  6. Sounds like we're going with a 3-man front

Can you experts out there explain how this is going to play out for the Buffs? What's the structure of this type of defense? The strategy for stopping the offense? And where are our players going to play in this new alignment?
  7. Perspective on Year on Year Improvement

These are great stats, but the biggest thing for me was that the team looked prepared and organized in 2013. Players clearly had better mechanics. There were dramatically less 'stupid' penalties and obscenely bad 'missed' plays on both sides of the ball. In short, the team had discipline. We...
  8. New walk-on at quarterback...

Maybe this guy will be a young Joel Klatt? I could live with that for a 2nd string QB.
  9. Nembot

CUBuffs.com has a video of him and Tupuo going at it, just briefly. Looked like two bull elephants fighting. Looks like he's getting in there.
  10. Tyler Hansen

Hawk benched his starter to put Hansen in as a true frosh. Hawk and crew may not have coached him up properly, or used him properly, but I never bought the 'Hawk screwed Hansen' meme. Hansen never proved himself (even this year) more effective than Cody. That may not be saying much, but its...
  11. Slick Rick Fired

Career is over. He'll be a QB coach etc. from now on.
  12. Embree Presser Today

I'm trying to put myself in Embree's shoes. How do you motivate the unmotivatible? These senior players have been taking plays off, earning stupid penalties, misplaying their position and generally getting manhandled for four years. I can't think of any technique short of benching them all...
  13. It looks to me like we're moving to a traditional 3-4 base defense (long)

Doesn't Dallas play a 3-4 with a fairly pedestrian-sized nose tackle? Can't remember his name. Of course, they have DeMarcus Ware. That makes any Defense better.
  14. The Plan at QB?

Its all about the players. If you have Andrew Luck and Gerhardt, a couple good WR and a good line, you can put up huge points in the Pro set. If you have Joey Brokearm, a mediocre RB and OL, then you don't. I think coaches like the spread because it simplifies your recruiting. If you can...
  15. Marquez Herrod

Apparently nobody knows RedDirtBuff. So therefore, they use this ver specific thread to go off in the usual ways.
  16. Scrimmage today

Wow. Hansen did better vs. ISU than I recalled. And I actually agree with everything you post here. The only thing that annoys me in this thread is the nepotism thing. I just don't buy it.
  17. Scrimmage today

Don't get me wrong, gents. I think we've been awful as a team the last two years, and Cody hasn't played great during that stretch. But I don't see Cody as the main reason (poor OL, no running game, no WR, mediocre special teams is my culprits). Likewise, Hansen was equaly horrible at KSU...
  18. Scrimmage today

Ah yes, the never ending 'conspiracy' theory that Hawkins doesn't want Hansen to start. I mean, despite the fact that Hawk benched his own son and started Hansen as a true freshman, it must be true. And despite benching his own son as a Junior and started Hansen the last nine games of his...
  19. Sorry guys, I'm not buying it...yet

Well, for the first time in five years, we have real depth across the board. We finally have a team with no giant gaps at key positions. We finally have a majority of our starters as Juniors and Seniors. I think these are all firsts in the Hawkins era. I don't think anybody is forgetting the...
  20. CU Offense...

We simply have not had ANY playmakers at WR for the last four years. We've only sort-of had playmakers at RB (Speedy's been hurt a lot, Scott a bust, Charles was okay). We've had some talent at TE, but usually that position is the one you go to when you've got other weapons too. Hopefully...
