CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

From Buffzone: https://www.buffzone.com/2024/02/02/colorado-athletics-recorded-nearly-9-9-million-deficit-for-2023-fiscal-year/ 21 million dollar increase in ticket sales, but FY2024 is when a lot of the p12 costs hit (payment to OSU and WSU, and no p12 network revenue along with repayments...

CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

That doesn’t seem like a problem for a school on the quarter system. Classes start Sept 23, so there are no assignments hanging over their heads on the first trip, and no missed classes required to get the obligatory weeknight game out of the way. The disadvantage of the quarter system is...

2023 Colorado Football Schedule & Future Schedules

The article says a $448 million renovation. That seems way too big for KU football. Especially with today’s interest rates. If they are planning what Oregon State did (play with 1/2 a stadium), that seems like a lot of lost revenue compared to playing at Arrowhead. Added: looking at the...

CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

ESPN still has the 8pm slots on Saturday and some weeknights, and they are losing the rights to USC, UCLA, UW, and Oregon (and likely WSU and OSU). Gonna be mostly Big 12 mountain teams filling those.

    2023 CFB Predictions/Gambling Thread

Would be a great time to sign up for bet365 on their $365 in free bets offer. And put it all on CU +625 for the Oregon game. I already have an account, but convinced 3 friends to do it. Hopefully it will be a fun Saturday.

Boulder is going to be insane this week

I wanna see a picture of a $#!@ housed Gronk plowing into the wrong bathroom at the Dark Horse. That could actually happen, right?

2023 Colorado Football Schedule & Future Schedules

The new Big Ten TV contract is Fox at Noon ET, CBS at 330pm ET, and NBC in primetime. Every week. There can be noon games on FS1 or BTN, but they'd have to be passed up by all three networks.

2023 Colorado Football Schedule & Future Schedules

Texas at Michigan is that day, and Fox specifically demended that they switch the home dates up on that series as a condition of Texas moving on from the Big 12 a year early. Can't see Fox passing up on that game.

It's rough if you want to pregame. Next year that Fox slot will be exclusively Big Ten.

2023 Colorado Football Schedule & Future Schedules

Fox putting games at 10am local is dirty - under the p12 contract, that time slot is not allowable in the pacific time zone without the schools’ permission. Not sure why/if that is different for mountain time. Fox also can chose to kick at 1:30pm as well, but according to Matt Sarz’s CFB TV...

CU housing expansion plans will close the Dark Horse

Mother F. What good is all this new housing if it's replacing decent places where one can gather and hang out. Every place somewhat chill is getting run out. They need to blow up office buildings and make housing, which also helps reduce the huge commuter imbalance. Plans show taking down a...

    2023 CFB Predictions/Gambling Thread

Do you make long shot bets with real money? Bonus bets are actually more valuable when used on long odds bets. That's because the bonus bet money is NOT returned when you win, while with a real money bet the orginial ber amount is. The flip side is the bonus bet value is not lost, while the...

    2023 CFB Predictions/Gambling Thread

Did something a little wild and put down a $5 pointsbet on CU -3.5. So win $5 per point when CU wins by more than 3, and loses $5 per point on the reverse. I'm bored with that site anyway. Was thinking $10, but they require someone to front 25x the bet amount and I didnt want to deposit.

CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

When does Comcast's contract with ESPN/Disney expire? Comcast has been playing hardball with Altitude for years, and it appears the Rockies channel is going out of business now too, likely wasn't getting good enough viewership or payments from cable/Comcast. So it seems Comcast could be as...

Aren't home games are the only ones owned by a university? Just go 'independant' and play road games and neural site games vs the Big Ten or SEC and collect a large check as a appearance fee or whatever each time. Coincidentally, have those fees add up to the same as a full share. Then...

Just came to say hello from Provo!

Provo challenge: Can CU fans out drink Wisconsin fans? Whisky is a slightly bigger school, but it's much easier to travel from CU. I think with a late game, CU can break that record. https://sports.yahoo.com/provo-bar-biggest-day-ever-financially-wisconsin-fans-town-140705804.html

ESPN still does not have after dark content for CFB as Fox Sports 1 has MWC now. Maybe this frees up cash for limited p12 deal, or even better frees up cash and some afternoon/late afternoon slots which will be used in addition to night games? ESPN also needs late night hoops. Can't fill that...
