    I'm glad the crowd was good and it was a fun atmosphere, but they sold 59k tickets so attendance was nowhere near that. Most of the season ticket holders I know hate the game and didn't go. I'm glad we watched at home and I'll be going to every game at Folsom this year.

    This is what people are missing here. It costs more to get good coaches to worse situations than it does to the more prestigious ones.

They buy into everything a coach is and there are a decent amount of players that choose the coach as a higher priority than the school. So it makes sense that...

    Your logic doesn't make sense. It would be a PR stain on the school to hire him. Arkansas State doesn't have to care about that, they only need care about winning at football.

    Agreed. Also, I view the current state of our program as a possible plus as well. There's really no pressure to win a bunch of games. Just show basic improvement and start winning a few and you're fine. You can show you know how to build a program from nothing.

    Here's my question: Why did Butch meet with our players if we weren't 100% sure he'd come? You don't have your potential coaching candidates meet with players. You have your "Next head coach" meet with your players.

    My argument this whole time has been that an "alternate" would be a good thing. Like Stanford's black. And UCLA's blue. The fact that they don't wear those every week is my whole point.

    I get your point, I just don't think we should have ever switched away. The 1990 uni's, design-wise, are awesome. Just need to tweak them.
