2024 Transfer Portal News - Please Respect My Decision

Deion coming out of high school worked his butt off. Like he has said, he doesn't have time for the bull junk. He wants to give kids opportunities, but can't waste his time with someone who won't work and take advantage of those opportunities. They want to be pro, they need to act pro.

    5430 Foundation

Looks like they dropped the pretex of being charitable (no longer a 501c3) and offloaded that to another organization to avoid IRS scrutiny.

NCAA 2024 Tourney game thread - #5 seed WOMEN'S Bball - 2nd round game @ #4 seed Kansas State (Manhattan, KS; Sunday, 3/24, Noon MT; ESPN)

Idaho was hosting the men's 1st/2nd rounds in Spokane, so almost all the hotels were booked and blocked for that, so when Gonzaga was awarded a host site for the women's bracket, there were no hotels available in Spokane, so they booked the nearest site they could that fell within the 30 min (or...

NCAA 2024 Tourney game thread - #5 seed WOMEN'S Bball - 2nd round game @ #4 seed Kansas State (Manhattan, KS; Sunday, 3/24, Noon MT; ESPN)

Somebody in the next presser should casually mention that they have heard the rumors that the NCAA wants an LSU Iowa rematch and that is why there was a big foul discrepancy, but we believe in the integrity of the game and the fairness of the officials, so we aren't worried about the calls going...

NCAA 2024 Tourney game thread - #5 seed WOMEN'S Bball - 2nd round game @ #4 seed Kansas State (Manhattan, KS; Sunday, 3/24, Noon MT; ESPN)

Yes, the calls were definitely Iowa friendly. The one under the basket where both girls had arms hooked, usually the one that goes down is the one pulling, not the one behind. Should have been a double foul if anything.

NCAA 2024 Basketball Tournament Selections Sunday (Men's show begins at 4:00 PM MT on CBS and Women's at 6:00 PM MT on ESPN)

WTF! I know what an at-large bid is. Are you having reading comprehension troubles. There was a question that was asked about how you can be the "last 4 in" and still be a 10 seed. I answered that at-large bids were 10's and higher, with 11's and lower going to AQ's. Previous years the...

They are higher than a 10, like I said. I suppose in previous years the at-large bids were 11 and higher, so that line varies year to year.

NCAA 2024 Basketball Tournament Selections Sunday (Men's show begins at 4:00 PM MT on CBS and Women's at 6:00 PM MT on ESPN)

Basically the at-large bids are 10 and higher. AQ's that wouldn't make the tourney otherwise are your 11 and lower. Thus you may be the last at-large bid but you will still be seeded higher than a worse auto qualifier. AQ's with the exception of the 16's get automatic byes.

Should just get rid of the three at this point. It won't be long until the 3 pt shooting percentage equals the overall fg percentage.

ACC and BIG 12 may head to court to sue B1G and SEC on collusion and anti-trust grounds. At least that is what I would imply to those conference commissioners if they don't acquiesce to equal revenue share per school.

And in the pre-NCAA AIAW days (Pearl Moore's time) they used the 29.5 in ball. The smaller ball was introduced to NCAA in 1984.

And Clark didn't play the same level of competition as Maravich, so why compare? There was probably also less disparity between "DII" and "DI" in Pearl's time than there is today due to lack of programs offering basketball and overall development of talent. Also normalizing by shots per game...

Good luck to those players, who don't get athletic scholarships and I doubt the program generates enough income to pay for the costs associated with running the program. They are a glorified club team with a paid coach.

College Basketball News, Rumor and Humor

The dumbest part of comparing Clark to Maravich is the simultaneously ignoring of Pearl Moore's record for women's basketball that Clark won't come close too. Yes, lets compare a Women's record to a Men's, but not compare to a Women's record that was set in the late 70's, but at an equivalent...

    Other games & teams thread

I think you mean Caitlin Clark. And to clarify she became the NCAA Division 1 all-time scoring leader, not the college women's scoring leader. She is behind Lynette Woodard whom she will probably surpass and Pearl Moore, who she won't catch. Both played before the NCAA sponsored women's sports...

2024/25 freshman class Olympic sports official NLI signing news (Signing period - 11/8/2023-8/1/2024)

So we were up at KU today for a HS indoor open meet and saw her in the girls shot put. Her dad was wearing a Buff's hoodie and she had a CU track and field shirt on as they left. Looking at the results, she was there to work on her long jump and shot put as she scratched out of the high jump...
