  2. '12 PA OLB Deaysean Rippy ('13 TNFR to Colorado)

Multiple times last year Embree complained about the lack of talent on the team but then he goes and does this, what a hypocrite. Same with all of you.
  3. '12 PA OLB Deaysean Rippy ('13 TNFR to Colorado)

I have heard of it and took that into account. Not a huge concern too me, again reward outweighs the risk. And APR suffers anytime a player leaves the program, everyone is a risk. Maybe theres a kid who did fine in HS but then struggles in college, maybe they get homesick and leave, maybe they...

I get the whole concept of "building a culture" but you need talent too. Hearing that phase just makes me think of Josh McDaniels approach when he took over the Broncos. At the point this program is at we don't have the luxary of being picky and turning away talent like this. Remember Embree did...
  5. '12 PA OLB Deaysean Rippy ('13 TNFR to Colorado)

We don't know that he won't qualify. At least three other schools are willing to take him and he was allowed to come to CU for a visit (visits must be pre-approved by CU admissions to ensure we aren't wasting money on players who have no chance of getting in) so his grades couldn't be that bad...
  6. Yale Football

The quick and dirty version: Their starting QB was a candidate for the Rhodes Scholarship but his interview was on the same day as the Harvard-Yale game. He chose to play in game rather then go to the interview which is necessarry for the scholarship and can't be rescheduled. The QB decided to...
  7. '12 PA OLB Deaysean Rippy ('13 TNFR to Colorado)

When he came on his visit Embree wanted him to commit and stop taking visits to other schools so he could focus on his academics (Apparently taking a visit out to Boulder was not detrimental to his academics, just visits to other schools). God forbid Rippy wanted to go visit other schools so he...
  8. '12 PA OLB Deaysean Rippy ('13 TNFR to Colorado)

Really? He had every opportunity to be a Buff? Then why is it that when he called and said he wanted to be a buff Embree wouldn't take him? And why does there have to be a bargain in the first place? You can still take his comittment. If he doesn't qualify then so be it and if he does then that...
  9. '12 PA OLB Deaysean Rippy ('13 TNFR to Colorado)

In my book Embree just lost all of the goodwill he had built up from getting Crawley and Wright. You have a blue chip player call to commit to your program and you turn him down because he didn't accept some silly ultimatum? It just seems like a power play by Embree. We can’t afford to turn away...
  10. Colorado vs Arizona

There's no reason to do that until it's getting filled on a regular basis. Excluding games over winter break it was filled for 5 of 13 games last year and 2 of 6 games so far this year, that won't cut it.
  11. Should The Buffs Go After 2013 5* Recruit Chris Thomas?

It's worse then that, 5th school in 5 years. Was in CO then MD then AZ then CT and now NC. The answer to the question though is an obvious yes. I'd take a team of serial killers if they had talent; just kidding, kind of.
  12. '12 PA OLB Deaysean Rippy ('13 TNFR to Colorado)

A couple hours ago he tweeted that we're one of his finalists (along with Arizona, Pitt, and West Virginia). Where did the info come from that we stopped recruiting him?
  13. RIP Joe Paterno

I agree I'm not defending JoePa's actions but that doesn't mean you can't still have sympathy for his plight. He should have been fired and had the law permited it he probably should have been thrown in jail but the guy is now dead.....The whole Penn State scandal is just a sad situation all around.
  14. How many scholarships do we have for 2013?

Chen has probably shown enough that he could warrant a scholarship (at least compared to Mills, Sharpe, and the bench riding champion of the world Eckloff) but I wouldn't give him one. As Nik said he came here with the understanding that he was going to be a walk-on but lucked into scholarships...
  15. RIP Joe Paterno

So three months ago JoePa was still coaching, his team was 8-1 and in first place, and he had a stellar and iconic reputaion. Since then he's gotten fired, his reputation has been largely destroyed, and he got cancer and subsequentley died. Amazing and sad how fast things can change.
  16. '12 TX TE Vincent Hobbs (Signed to Colorado)

(Free) Rivals article: http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1321908 Mentions that he may cancel his visit this weekend and I just checked his Rivals page and he's no longer listed as a visitor. Not sure why anyone would rather go to Memphis then CU and even if that is his...
  17. Observations from a Basketball noob.

I think you're referring to the teriyaki bowls (which is japanese). I didn't have one but their delicious aroma could be smelled all over the arena. Kudos to whoever thought that one up. Potential tailgate item or is it 'merican food only?
