NCAA 2024 Basketball Tournament Selections Sunday (Men's show begins at 4:00 PM MT on CBS and Women's at 6:00 PM MT on ESPN)

That’s why I called it a random example. I am very ignorant of valuable MBB metrics. I would be fine with a universally accepted threshold.

NCAA 2024 Basketball Tournament Selections Sunday (Men's show begins at 4:00 PM MT on CBS and Women's at 6:00 PM MT on ESPN)

I would love to see a common sense threshold for at large bids, such as .500 in conference play as a random example. Basically remove any doubt on certain teams if they come in under the threshold. I personally despise subjective playoff selections by committees.

    CU MBB Rankings/NET/KenPom/Bracketology Catch-All

The reason it is comparable is because Colorado was a consensus “in” among bracketologists in 2011 and was considered a a significant snub by everyone compared to the teams put in over them. The selection to the tournament is ultimately subjective and up to the whims of committee members...

lol I’ve seen this same message board post before and the Buffs did not in fact get in. History has shown that the Buffs do not get the benefit of the doubt on the bubble on selection Sunday. I hope I’m wrong, and history doesn’t repeat, but I’ll only believe the Buffs are only in once they...

Yes an aq is in the tournament, but have to beat Oregon to get the aq.

Incorrect. He is projecting us as an automatic qualifier. Buffs cannot lose tonight.

It is ridiculous. I had Colorado as a lock with the WSU win because win or lose against the chards would not matter. I bet if Arizona had won, Buffs would have have been a consensus lock this morning. But now Oregon ****ed it all up. If the Buffs don’t get the automatic bid, I think the...

    2024 Pac 12 Tourney thread- #3 seed MEN'S bball (Las Vegas; their 1st game vs. #6 Utah/ #11 ASU winner, Thurs., 3/14, 9:30 PM MT, FS1)

I’m as regular as the atomic clock in Boulder. I wake up and have breakfast and coffee at 5:20 in the morning and annihilate the toilet at 6:45.

Personally, my pessimistic opinion is if Buffs win tonight, they are in due to another win over a team from the field. If they lose, the Buffs will be out with the lame excuse that their resume against the field kept them out.

The committee will put the teams in that they want then cherry pick the data to justify teams in/out.

I know broken record here, but this is 2011 vibes. Colorado’s overall resume is easily tourney worthy, but between spot stealers and bias, I’m thinking the Buffs are screwed if the season ends today. Edit: What Denver_sc said. The goalposts keep moving as the Buffs keep winning.

ESPN -A bit confusing, but has Colorado out in his update. SB Nation

    CU MBB Rankings/NET/KenPom/Bracketology Catch-All

Multiple bracketology websites have moved Colorado to first 4 out due to games yesterday. Despite an obviously strong resume, Buffs can’t lose today to give the committee an excuse to keep them out.

Don’t look now, but the Oregon State AD is on this year’s selection committee.
