Lawson redshirted as a freshman and then played sparingly at DT the next 3 seasons. Graduating on time in 4 years, Lawson decided not to continue his football career as a graduate student at CU.

Hawk's first class was a dud

Good DB class (Jimmy Smith, Jalil Brown and Cha'pell Brown). And we got steals in Solder, Stevens and McKnight. Could be we'll end up liking the LBs/DEs depending on how Beatty, Herrod and Sipili do this season. And Drescher was a very good long snapper for us. But, yeah, there were monumental holes in this class. Barnett had lost interest in recruiting at this point in his tenure and Hawkins scrambled to piecemeal a class together (with mixed results).
