Grandview HS (Grandview, MO)

Ht: 6-foot-6
Wt: 180

ESPN Eval:

September, 2008: Alec is a long and thin combo guard. He is a skilled lefty that is good at running a team as a point guard. He has solid vision but is more of a run the team, set up point guard. He is a solid athlete and is an effective slasher to the basket. He is a solid shooter with range to 19 feet. As a wing he takes on a more aggressive mentality and looks for his shot a little more. His length enables him to be a pretty good defender, though he can struggle with quickness on the perimeter. He needs to get stronger in order to be more effective in the rough and tumble Big 12 but his skill, length and potential make him a good get for the Buffs. He has a very good upside.

Re: '09 MO F Alec Burks

Bzdelik was more optimistic when discussing his incoming recruiting class. He compared guard Alex Burks to Richard Roby in how Burks can “create his own scoring opportunities. That’s huge. You can’t teach that.” Bzdelik added that Burks is listed at 6-foot-4 on recruiting sites, but is now 6-6.

“I told him to keep growing this summer,” Bzdelik said.

Re: '09 MO F Alec Burks

Nice to see us reel in a guy that had some offers from some legit schools.

Re: '09 MO F Alec Burks

That's huge for us if Burks can play the 2 or the 3.

Thought I'd bump this in light of the season Alec had, Congrats man you are a hell of a Buff!

Chauncey is going to be hard to beat for that title. Dude was nails in college, and he's been an awesome pro.

And is arguably the best HS player Colorado has ever produced, winning two state titles, losing the the finals once as well. I knew about Chauncey when he was in 8th grade.

I was really hoping there would be someone ripping on the signing so we can throw it back in there face.
