From the new Rivals article:

McCarthy recorded 151 tackles, eight and a half sacks and two interceptions during his junior campaign. He was named all-state and the Southern Idaho Conference Defensive Player of the Year.

"My high school coach Lee Leslie calls me 'The Freak' because I am football 24-7," McCarthy said. "I love football. I love hitting people. And I love the atmosphere around the game. I love walking on the field when the lights are turned on. I love the summer workouts. I am always in the weight room. I am always talking about football. I love to watch film. I understand the game. Football is my life."

Bishop Kelly was also the high school that Cody went to. They're good friends and McCarthy really likes the Buffs. Cabral is recruiting him for us.

My guess is that if we didn't offer him before, we won't be offering now.
