From HoopGurlz in 2009:

Heather Corral: Al Aldridge's next star at Prarie already had the genes working in her favor as she is the younger sister of USC sophomore and former McDonald's All-American Ashley Corral. Heather is actually a smoother athlete and has at least two inches on big sis. She has confidence handling the ball under pressure but hasn't yet developed the confidence to put the team on her back and carry it. If she can tap into her sister's abundance of swagger, she will be a special player. She can attack with either hand and shoot the ball off the dribble. Defensively she uses her length and gets plenty of pass tips. As she adds strength she will be able to apply more pressure on ball.

Sounds like she tore her ACL last year. Hopefully she can recover as it sounds like she could be a special player.

Colorado in her Final 3

Coach Lappe has an official visit lined up this weekend with Heather Corral, not to be outdone by Coach Boyle. Make her feel welcome if you see her around campus.

Thanks, MO.

Lappe's doing a good job in the Pacific Northwest. I didn't expect to see us recruiting there so aggressively.

With all the talk about the men visiting this weekend, has anyone heard how Heather enjoyed her trip? From what I've read, this could be a huge get for us. Sounds like she was potentially a big time recruit before her ACL injury. I get the feeling if she has healed and is playing at the same level again this year, she's going to skyrocket up some boards.

Looks like we'll know by the middle of next month:

The 6-foot-1 point guard still is considering Colorado, where she is on an official visit this weekend; Gonzaga, where she will visit Sept. 15-17, and Washington, where she will visit Sept. 22-24, according to her father, Art.

Rated a three-star prospect by ESPN HoopGurlz, Corral will have in-home visits by all three programs between Sept. 16 and Oct. 6, Art Corral said in an email message. She previously had Kentucky and Oregon State in her final five.

Today, The Columbian in Washington mentioned Corral's recovery in the context of her cross country season. It's not basketball, but it's a good sign.

The Prairie girls cross country team swept to wins over Columbia River and Mountain View. But that was hardly news. What was significant was a name that showed up in the Falcons’ results.

Heather Corral finished 12th in the four-team meet. Corral, a senior, is an all-state basketball player who had her past two basketball season ended early by knee injuries.

About six months after her most recent knee injury, Corral is out running cross country at Prairie and running well.

So Prairie fans will be glad to know that Corral is mending well.

Come on Heather, you know you want to play with the two top 70 recruits we've already got to commit.
