Richard Obert had a great blog entry in late April on Farria for azcentral:

Marcus Farria stood out once he arrived on Peoria Centennial's campus from Louisiana this winter just by his chiseled 6-foot-5, 235-pound frame. He passed the eye-ball test in flying colors with football coach Richard Taylor.

Then, he found out the kid was just a sophomore and that he not only plays defensive end but tailback.

Then, Taylor saw how strong he was in the weight room.

"He power cleaned 275 the other day," Taylor said. "When college coaches saw him working out in the weight room before the (February) signing date, they were going, 'Who the heck is that?' I said, 'He's only a sophomore.' They visibly started writing his name down."

With spring workouts coming up the first week of May, you can count on those same college coaches returning to Centennial to check out this freak of nature.

Centennial returns another stud sophomore, running back Jalen Ortiz, and his great speed and moves and scored 13 touchdowns on a Class 5A-II runnerup team. Centennial could be pretty dominant in the backfield as usual.

But defense is Farria's forte, and, if he keeps working and getting stronger and bigger, there is no ceiling too high for this kid whom some believe could emerge as a five-star recruit by late in his junior year.

It will all play out on the football field.

So far, Farria, no doubt, is on the radar, based on physique.
