Keys had a productive junior season at both wide receiver (7 TDs) and safety (6 INTs) in leading Helix to a state title. From the limited film, I might lean toward defense for him at the college level.

Helix has had several alumni end up in the NFL, most recently Reggie Bush and Alex Smith.

"Colorado said that they are getting ready to offer me," Keys said. "They like me on both sides of the ball, but mainly as a safety. I have a lot of questions I would like to ask Colorado because I heard they have a great campus and I saw a couple clips about them but I don't know too much about them. That might be one of my official visits."

Keys is a nice athlete and has the frame to be a physical presence.

He was a standout at the LA Nike Camp:

Kendal Keys(2013) WR, Helix (La Mesa, CA) 6-foot-3, 190 lbs.
Keys showed that he is a versatile receiver by getting in and out of his breaks well, blocking and making perhaps, the catch of the day at the LA NFTC in 1on1's, with a great diving effort.

Kendal Keys, WR, Helix – Keys was one of the bigger wide receivers in attendance but even at his size he was able to create separation from defenders and he made some spectacular catches. Keys is not simply a vertical threat. He’s a guy that can work the middle of the field and when it touches his hands, it’s a completion.
Keep in mind that the DB group at the camp was the most talented group in attendance.

I kinda like what I see of him at safety. Seems to break on the ball well, has good closing speed, and takes pretty decent angles. Not afraid of contact either. If fact, it's interesting to see highlights that include a wr blocking downfield -- I don't think I've ever seen anyone include those kinda vids for a wr.

Decent.

Would be nice to bring him in and figure out whether he's a S or WR in camp.

I don't have a Rivals paid account, but there's a new article up on Keys on the BSU Rivals page that says he's planning on taking an official visit here in the fall from the short readable blurb.

Don't know if he goes on to talk about a Colorado visit or discuss his interest in the Buffs, but I imagine there's probably a few folks around here with a Rivals account who could benefit from the notice of the article and the link so leaving it here.

According to the Oregon State Rivals article from today that I was able to access, ASU and BSU are his Top 2 with the Beavs hanging in there in 3rd.

He committed to Boise State recently. Scout and 247 still have him making an official visit to ASU in January. Hopefully MacIntyre reaches out here to gauge interest.
