How confident are we that the sheep have mastered the application of measuring tape technology?Actually means he was measured at CSU and that is what they listed.....

Measuring tapes are in important part of the fibers industry. So I think we can assume they've mastered the art...
Grey shirt or walk on candidate?
The height and weight, as stated earlier, is accurate, it was done on a visit to CSU over the weekend. If we can get him to do this would be an excellent candidate. Dominated but at a lower level of football. HS coach who coached against him told me that the speed is legit and that he is a very good athlete. Solidly built could develop into an excellent safety. Didn't tell me about how accurate the height is but said the kid is physically pretty mature so limited potential for future weight gain although he is pretty solid already. Again all this is from a guy who was on the other sideline so just impressions.

I saw this kid in person when Silver Creek beat Rifle in the state playoffs. They pretty much out game-planned Rifle and shut down Moeller, but it was pretty clear he is a stud. I wasn't sure myself if he was a can't miss prospect, but he certainly looked D1 capable as an athlete. The true test is you get him in a camp or a setting where you can at least do some 7 vs 7 and you can evaluate him against some other D1 kids. He didn't see many of those during High School. Makes evaluation tricky.
He's in the mold of what MacIntyre seems to be going after big time. Guys that are in the region of at least 6'0" and 195 and can run. RBs, TEs, LBs, Safeties? For sure, special team guys. We've been blowing redshirts like crazy on guys who are only getting in as True Frosh on coverage teams.
And to a large extent still sucked.
Kid like this has no downside. He is as big and fast as other kids we are giving schollies to. The PWO doesn't cost you a scholly, any kid who does a PWO isn't coming in with a superstar mentality, he will be willing to do whatever it takes to get on the field even if this means switching positions and learning new stuff.
If he even can turn into a ST contributor and depth guy we are ahead. It also shows other Colorado kids that CU is willing to give them a look and a shot. If he plays the whole west slope of the state will pay attention and support him. Western CO doesn't produce a lot of players but it would be nice if we could lock up the ones it does in the future and this could help.
My only point is to say that if the ONLY reason we can land a better rated recruit is to promise them PT, then I don't want that player. I think that is Mike Mac's strategy as well and 100% agree with him.
