Whitener is popping up as a Texas player to watch in 2013. He plays for a strong Mansfield squad that reached the round of 16 in 2011 and should have a handful of players get Division 1 offers. He was also the district sophomore of the year.

He is a bit on the short side and his speed does not jump off the scream, but he looks to be very instinctive playing from the middle.
