GAMES TO WATCH
Saturday - September 1: Dallas Skyline (Texas) vs. The Woodlands (Texas)
"There could be some added fuel between the Houston-area and Dallas Metroplex. After leading for most the match up last year deep into the playoffs, The Woodlands lead slipped away in the final moments of the fourth quarter to come away with a victory. Should be a great game to get the 2012 football season going in the Lone Star State. And, there is plenty of star-power for the hard-core recruitniks with Big 12, Pac 12 and SEC players involved in the game. CB Will Barrows (Texas Tech) DT Kerrick Huggins (Texas A&M) QB Devante Kincade (Ole Miss) WR Lamont Levels LB Roderick Moore (SMU) WR Ra'Shaad Samples (Oklahoma State) LB Isaiah Williams (Kansas State) Jonathan Huckins (Colorado) Sam Kronshage (Colorado) Jayme Taylor (Northwestern)."

Thanks Bufferman. The talent down here keeps growing every year.

The greater Houston metro area is now 6.1 million, greater than Colorado and Wyoming combined. That's a prestigious list.

Thanks for putting it into context, Houbuff!

Huckins is my favorite OL commit. Hopefully he stays solid. I think he'll be clearing some major holes for our backs soon.

Here's the boys clearing a hole for the Sophomore running back, Patrick Carr, during the 2012 playoffs (vs Klein Collins).

#77 is Jonathan and #75 is Sam.

Got to be interesting for some coach to try to convince his 210lb jr. DT that he should and could stand in there against a line that includes both of these guys. 175lb LB has to stand in there and try to fill the hole all day against them.

This kids film is fun to watch. Plays with attitude! I'm happy bout him being happy! Welcome aboard our next road grader!

Yep. I am glad to see a kid who already bleeds Black and Gold. Welcome young fella.

TW’s Huckins, Carr named to TWSA All-State team

The Woodlands teammates Patrick Carr and Jonathan Huckins were named to the Texas Sports Writers Association All-State Football Team announced on Friday.
Huckins, a senior offensive guard on his way to play at the University of Colorado, was a second-team selection. Carr, a sophomore running back and the Courier’s pick for Montgomery County Player of the Year, was a third-team pick.

Carr would often credit Huckins and his offensive teammates after a prolific game for the Highlanders, which became a regular occurence over the second half of the season.
“Jon started for us as a junior, so he had 14 games of experience coming into his senior year,” TWHS coach Mark Schmid said. “He was a natural leader on the offensive line. He enjoys playing football. He enjoys practice.
“Nothing is drudgery for him. The fact that he was recognized by the Texas sports writers is a great accomplishment for him.”
Schmid pointed out that Huckins was a defensive lineman as a junior varsity player but was quick to accept the move to the offensive line.
“We’re really excited about Jon getting the chance to play at Colorado,” Schmid said.

Congrats to your little boy! That's the kind of validation that'll help some of the nay-sayers breath easier.
