Luatua, a 2014 prospect, was offered on Monday by UCLA, and the Buffs followed suit on Wednesday, offering the 6-4, 230-pounder who had 23 receptions for 251 yards and a touchdown this past season as a sophomore. His older brother, Isaac, redshirted at Alabama this past fall on the Tide's National Championship team.

Love it. Punishing blocker, mean defender and he can catch and run too. To top it off he is not even a junior! You can see that he really loves to crush people when he blocks. I bet Stanford gets in the mix soon.

On another note, does UCLA have have a spy or a camera hidden or something? This is the second future recruit that we are both on. It seems like they find out who we are gonna offer and swoop in to beat us to it. Bastards

Very likely a consensus top five player in California for the 2014 class.

"Tyler is honored schools like Michigan, Ohio State, Florida State and the others schools are recruiting him, but his eyes sparkle when he talks about USC and Alabama," said La Mirada head football coach Mike Moschetti. "He's open to everyone, but USC and Alabama are at the top of his list and I believe it's going to be a battle between those two schools."

Terrific athlete. High school sophomores at his size are not supposed to be able to move that well.

"It was a little out of the blue. But if you're a high school football player, you know about Texas. They won a national championship a few years ago playing in the Rose Bowl. They played Michigan in the Rose Bowl in one of the greatest games I've ever seen by a single player in Vince Young. Most kids from California know a little bit about Texas."
