Son of the former pro quarterback who possesses elite athleticism (has high jumped over 7'). He was the backup QB at Bishop Gorman to 2013 Arizona signee Anu Solomon, but will be the starter as a senior.

During his junior season, he did rush for nearly 500 yards and 7 TDs.

Was there a more spectacularly athletic play by a quarterback than Cunninghams Jumpig summersault and landing on his feet in the endzone

We need to get Randall Cunningham's kid, Nate Dogg's kid, and Snoop Dogg's kid.

Probably the time I saw him dodge about 5 tacklers in his own end zone and launch a 60 yard bomb for a completion.

On the other side of that, there was the time I saw LT playing with a pulled hammy chase down Randall from behind from the back side after Randall had taken off running around the other end.

Interesting read. I'm not sure we're recruiting him, but damn this kid is an impressive athlete. It'll be fun to follow his career.

Rivals lists offers from: Baylor, LSU, Miss St, Syracuse, UNLV, Utah, and Yale. He wants to do track and football. Baylor and LSU are top track programs as well

Seems like a long shot, but would love to have him based on his name alone. Seems like his recruitment could blow up if he has a good senior year. Already has some impressive offers and he hasn't even started as a QB yet.

His high jump of 7'2" got me wondering what the world record is. According to Wiki, Javier Sotomayor (Cuba) has the world record of 8'1/2" :wow:

Pretty sure Buffnik educated us in the past that if you're on the fb team, you can't be on another sport's scholly.

Yeah. Football trumps. You can't play football and be on a scholarship for another sport. Has to be that way or some programs would have rosters with 125 players by giving out track and baseball scholarships to football players, soccer scholarships to the kickers, etc.

Even then I'm wondering if they aren't using this as a convienient way to get around scholly limits. Kid comes in on a track scholarship (and completes) while participating in football practices as a WO. His freshman year he would be a RS anyways so he never sees the field. His second or third year (and after making a position change) if he's good enough to see the field he is all of the sudden a football scholly, if not he stays on track.

He only becomes a football scholly if he actually plays, until then he can practice with the fb team but not count against the football limits.

Interesting. He had been very vocal about committing to a program that was also strong in T&F, didn't know that sport was the priority though. I suspect he may mingle with the football players once on campus and play pickup games with them in the offseason, determine if he has the goods to keep up in a couple years and still has the desire to play football and the coaches by that time should know enough about him to determine if he's worth a FB scholly. I would venture to guess he will be if he wants it at any time in the future.

I'm guessing his dad has the money to put him through college, so why not go that route and eliminate the scholarship restrictions?

Maybe going to school on a track scholarship is his dream and that's the sport he wants to focus on. I think the last name is creating a lot of assumptions.

Good point. Maybe he deosn't want to carry the expectations of being "Randal Cunningham's son" on the FB field. He can run track, go to school, and make his own identity and success.
