She looks like she has better length than 5'8" would suggest. Hands look great in that profile pic.

Congrats and welcome to her for the commitment to the Buffs! (Definitely looks like Coach Lappe and staff are working hard so they're NEVER short on point guards again.)

It sure does look that way. And that's a good thing. But they also need to remember they need to get the power forward and center positions covered too. The 2015 freshmen seem to have the 1, 2, and 3 positions covered.

Beamer HS point guard Brian Rice has given oral commitment to play at Colorado. Reigning TNT All Area player of year.

Not to be a dick.... but why oh why would you say "oral" commitment? say verbal. c'mon man.

That being said, welcome to the Buffs!!

Welcome, Bria. Now we need some power forwards and centers which we have been without for years.

Thought I'd bump this thread with the early signing period for basketball starting tomorrow, and it looking like, per http://www.thenewstribune.com/sports/high-school/article44057907.html ,Ms. Rice is still likely to sign her NLI during the early signing period to become a Buff!
(Note- Per its calendar, her school is off tomorrow for Veterans' Day, so if she's planning on being part of any school signing ceremony, she might not be signing tomorrow.?.)

A couple more things about her from ESPN/ Hoopgurlz (http://espn.go.com/high-school/girls-basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/216814/bria-rice):
(1) Not that I value ratings much as to individual players, but Ms. Rice is rated as a 3 star/ 90 Scout's rating player, and the 27th ranked point guard in the nation. (Since it looks like their 100th ranked player has a 91 rating and 4 stars, she's probably not too far outside being ranked in their "Hoopgurlz Top 100" list for the Class of 2016.)
(2) Their written evaluation of her- "End-of-the-Trail-July 2015: Jet-quick floor-leader handles, pushes tempo and distributes in transition game; penetrates and delivers to rim in traffic; pesky defender in pressure, flourishes in uptempo; consistent perimeter game is key for next level impact. (Olson)"
(As with all sports everywhere, and even more so at a mile high, can't have too much speed and quickness, and it sounds like Ms. Rice will definitely be bringing that to the Buffs.)

(Note- Per an article from awhile ago (http://www.buffzone.com/ci_27977336/ ), even after Ms. Rice signs, sounds like the Buffs may still have 2 scholarships available for 2016.?.)

Bria posted on Instagram that her signing ceremony is tomorrow at 7 PM and food will be provided! That will get her a crowd.

By my count they could sign up to three players in addition to Bria Rice. They currently have 12 players on scholarship and one senior and one (so far) confirmed incoming freshman. 12 - 1+1= 12 and they can have a max of 15 players on scholarship.

CU now has two incoming players at this time since Rice has received a release from CU.
