Looks like her stock is rising on the national recruiting scene. I'm not sure she is on the Buff's radar but we do have enough available scholarships to at least consider her. It would be wise to have local recruit and she could have time to improve her game, since we are fairly deep at guard.

Yes, CU is deep at the guard spot. Coaches were in DC and Augusta.

I'll take a shot at this. There are several competing interests here. One of course is the in-state recruiting angle. CU hasn't had a lot of success in this department in recent years (I'm being polite here). The only in-state on the roster Lauren Huggins is a fifth year senior. So yes, I would say this coaching staff needs get going on the recruiting front in Colorado. Unfortunately it appears Michaela Onyenwere, hands down the top in-state recruit this year, is not giving CU a look. She's generally considered a top 50 prospect nationally.

With 15 scholarships available it would seem the coaching staff could take a flyer or two on prospects. In any given season only about nine players get seignificant playing time. That leaves six or so (assuming all scholarships are being used) don't see much action. If CU were to sign a player that consistently ended up in the six that didn't play much and she remained there all four seasons I'm not sure what type of message that sends to other potential recruits. This isn't to say that CU shouldn't take a flyer on an in-state prospect, but I believe there are risks for CU. Does it set back in-state recruiting if the Colorado players aren't getting any significant playing time?

Personally, I would be as sure as possible if I were recruiting in-state that the players that they could make the top nine at some point.

No effect and I am puzzled where or how you came up with that theory.

I have seen someone asking about a "rumor" that Peyton will be a PWO. If true, that would explain the lack of a signing tweet/article.

That would explain it as Peyton's twitter page still shows her as a Buff commit

Article in todays Daily Camera about yesterday's Monarch BB loss by 8 to Highlands Ranch has in it a quote from Peyton Carter followed by this: " ... Carter said after the game, attended also by her future coach at the University of Colorado, JR Payne. "

That's awesome. Shows they still support her even though she's already coming.
