If Kountz is Buff-bound as our lead guard in the 2018 class (assuming here), it makes a lot more sense for Tad to roll with Dom & Nikolic in 2017-18 and bring in another front court guy to finish off 2017 recruiting.
 
Full disclaimer - I don't have any real feel for Kountz as a prospect. Some people I really respect are super high on him. Others aren't. That said, ALWAYS take ESPN rankings with a huge grain of salt.

Yup. The Wichita offer carries a huge amount of weight to me. I haven't seen much of Kountz, but I'd be happy to have him based on that alone. The fact that @YngC and a few others I really respect speak highly of him doesn't hurt either.
 
He didn't have a very good Spring but heard he bounced back a bit in the summer. The question is if he's better than Schwartz or Wright, which I'd say no to. Is he better than Deleon Brown? That's probably more of where he's at in terms of level.
 
Thanks man - I haven't seen this kid play, and his online highlights are pretty underwhelming. That is NOT so much in reference to Kountz, but the actual tape itself. One can't really gauge how good the kid is in those tapes; showing him shoot free throws, make a long wide open pass, play against a kid that looks like he's 5'2", etc. If you say he's like a Deleon - I'm cool with it. If Tad feels like he can help the team, I'm again satisfied. Hopefully there are some bigger players though he's finding and going after.
