Jeffcoat seems to be the lead recruiter here, at least by position.

One to watch his senior season.

Scout article by @KyleM. : http://www.scout.com/college/colorado/story/1760744-in-state-wildeman-on-cu-s-radar
Working out at Six Zero has certainly helped Wildeman’s football growth. He credits McChesney with assisting in the development of all aspects of his game and for helping gain attention in the recruiting whirlwind.
“Really good, I’ve been seeing him for about a year and a half now. He’s done great things for me. By the end of football season junior year I was 215, now I’m weighing about 235 already and I’m trying to get to 245 going to senior year,” Wildeman said.

Rivals article from 10 days ago on the Wyoming site: https://wyoming.rivals.com/news/denver-defensive-end-holds-early-wyoming-csu-nevada-offers
“One thing I feel like I do well on the field is I'm very aggressive, with my hands, the way I play the game, and my intensity,” Wildeman said. “
Wildeman was named First Team All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-State, in addition to Academic All State Honorable Mention after a season that saw him account for 40 solo tackles, 13 tackles for loss, seven sacks, and three forced fumbled. He also scored twice on offense as a tight end.

Hey Kyle, do you know his dad's name? I played little league with a couple of Wildeman kids, great players.

This in-state group looks like it's a lot deeper than last year's.

Picked up Princeton and Yale offers.

Feeling like CU needs to offer. Can't let a kid with these academic chops end up at ASU to play P5 football.

It's a little crazy we're so late to offer some of these instate kids. It's like the coaches don't trust making an opinion on them until they have other offers to validate it.

This staff offers plenty of kids early without having other offers to validate; whatever the reason for waiting to offer, validation is not the cause.

So does Wildeman have an offer from CU? His film is pretty damn good. ASU has already offered. ?

Interesting offer list. His academics are clearly not an issue. Should give us an advantage over ASU and Okie Lite if he is that academically focused.

I am lost as to why we haven't offered this kid. 6'6", can turn a corner, and uses leverage well. This guy is a hell of a Dline prospect. Admittedly, he probably fits in as a 4-3 DE better than in a 3-4....but IMO this is one hell of a prospect, in state, with no offer?

I think the bolded is why, but that could change if the coaches are able to get him on campus to evaluate him in person.

So CU didn't offer but NU did?

If so, great to see that CU has elevated themselves a few notches in the recruiting hierarchy. The last class was assembled in large part before the great season, which dashed a few common myths but that is for a different post, so this class in theory should be even better coming off the results of last season given the staff is held intact in May.

Summary: NU is now taking CO prep kids that CU isn't offering and it doesn't appear to be because the CU coaches are ignorant of the CO prep talent like back in the day with Byers, Campbell, et al. I like what I'm seeing.

Yep. Strange CU didn't offer him.

Perhaps the coaches knew it was a lost cause. Or they are just too slow doing their analysis of this prospect. Had the kid commited to CU he would be ranked 1st or 2nd in the 2018 class to this point.

I question CU's recruiting for the 2018 class. Time will tell.

We run a 3-4.

Nebraska is switching to a 3-4.
Then I hope he's able to play in space or that your system's different. Not sure he has the frame to eat up blockers while collapsing the pocked like his role would have been in CU's system. All of the 4-3 DE types we recruited before our switch have turned into guys with very limited roles as 3rd & long pass rush specialists.
