To be fair, Bernardi is his lead recruiter and it does not sound he has been in much contact with Drake at all.
I've always said that Bernardi has recruiting chops. You don't end up the RC at UCLA by accident. But it never seemed that he was pushed to recruit. When he has been, like late in a cycle when we needed someone, he's landed guys like Oliver, Poplawski and Ray.

So is he miscast or under motivated?

Yes.

I think the MM has unfortunately been giving some of his staff members a pass on recruiting since he has been here.

Great coaching may win you a few individual games but more often talent beats coaching. The most successful coaches have high expectations for their staffs in terms of recruiting. If they have non-performers in recruiting it is because they bring something else very special. I don't see that from any of the Buffs staff so they should all be recruiting hard.

Would be interesting to see real measurements here. Have seen a really wide range from 6'2"/295ish to 6'1"/267 in an article yesterday. Major difference.

Based on nothing other than the pic in the OP, I’d be surprised if he weren’t closer to that 295 lb figure. He looks like a grown man in that picture.

Unless he has visited without my realizing it, this is not good news that he has already made his decision.

I don't see any Buff coaches following him but according to the offer list we could have a chance if Tucker wanted to throw his hat in the ring.
