In case you missed it yesterday, Brandon Ashley commited to Arizona. They now have two legitimate top 10 guys in their class along with Gabe York, who isn't exactly a slouch himself. Arizona might have the top class in the nation when it's all said & done.

Also, UCLA is doing a pretty good job recruiting right now and if the rumors of Muhammad and Anderson wanting to play together are true, then UCLA will be joining Arizona at the top.

UCLA and Arizona are always going to get theirs. There is absolutely no shame in it if we can work our way to becoming the #3 prestige program in this conference. My target right now is Washington. That's the program we need to out-recruit.

In many ways, I almost prefer recruits from that second tier. Unless the NBA re-thinks their draft eligibility, the elite recruits will continue to be one and done players. Once you get outside the top 25 or so, the chances start increasing that you'll have guys stay around for at least 2-3 years, building some continuity in the program. And you're right, if we're talking program prestige, #3 in the conference would be a really nice place to be.

Jarmal Reid, 3* SF from Georgia committed to Oregon State this weekend.

From Rush the Court:

It looks like Arizona might be on its way to locking up another major recruit as Kaleb Tarczewski, one of the top high school players in the class of 2012, has narrowed his choices to Arizona and Kansas and scheduled visits to both schools. Tarczewski also still has North Carolina on his list, but did not schedule a visit there so we are guessing at this point crossing off the Tar Heels from his list is just a formality. As for the two remaining schools, Tarczewski is scheduled to visit Kansas this weekend and Arizona next weekend, which will coincide with their football game against Oregon. Although it is possible that the visit to Lawrence could blow him away and he could commit to play for the Jayhawks after some Blue Chips-like scene at Allen Fieldhouse (the scene involving Bob Cousy not the ones involving bags of cash, a tractor, a Lexus, or a new house for mom), but we tend to lean towards the team with the last shot at a player. If that is the case, Sean Miller may be adding another big piece to a class that will be a consensus top 5 class even if he does not add another player after Tarczewski.

Arizona is absolutely killing it right now. Really wishing the rumors of Miller to Maryland would have been true.

We now have the #1 & #2 recruiting classes in the nation in the Pac-12. Wow.

That's the thing that people need to understand about the Pac-12. We have 2 elite programs. That means that even if they look like they're down, they're still capable of turning it around and going on a Final Four run based on a single recruiting class. There are only a handful of programs in the nation that are always capable of doing this. Our situation is kind of like being in the ACC and not being Duke or North Carolina.

I think people underestimate some of the talent that goes to the Pac. Granted, many of the underclassmen leave early (leaving teams young), but it should not really be a big surprise to see either UCLA or Arizona recruiting like this... hopefully UW joins them next year:thumbsup:

Love the comparison to the ACC. CU needs to become the Maryland/Wake Forest (before Bz) of the Pac-12.

As mentioned in his player thread, Christian Sanders to Stanford.

Not 2012, but...

Dave Telep:

Kodi Justice, 2014 guard out of Dobson in Arizona, now counts himself as a member of the Arizona State Sun Devils basketball family

He's a big PG (6'5") who it looks like could be a top 100 talent for 2014.
