Not sure he can contractually do that. His buyout probably stipulates that he has to actively pursue football employment. To publicly admit that his goal is to "take a year" would likely endanger his ability to collect the buyout.

Maybe Youngstown St needs a GA.
 
I wonder if this has any effect on our DC search:

Atlanta Falcons: Alex Marvex of Fox Sports is reporting that UCLA defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich and Notre Dame quarterbacks coach Matt LaFleur are joining Dan Quinn’s staff in Atlanta.

Wow that's interesting, thanks. I remember Ulbrich getting into it with their HC on the sidelines during one the games this year, caught on camera kind of thing.

Not sure if this is that critical to us-I'd say Marquand Manuel following Quinn to Atlanta probably means Seto gets some sort of promotion in Seattle if he wants it (guess is DBs coach-sounds like Kris Richard is all but done as their DC).

I don't have the problems with Jeffcoat that I do with Ninas. Jeffcoat's units showed some improvement and he has developed Derek Mac nicely. Jeffcoat may shine a little more with a better DC above him as well. As far as Ninas, **** these special teams!
 
UCLA fired Tui. Plenty of programs still looking for a defensive assistant. Not saying he'd want to come back here, but he is known as an excellent Poly recruiter.
