2019 Pac-12 Recruiting Thread

UCLA finally on the board with a QB commit out of Texas. Still seem to be struggling.

Stanford beat out Texas for a 4* OL prospect yesterday. If things break right, could end up being a monster class.

Weird start for USC. Some questionable early takes for them.

It actually worries me a bit that USC has a plan instead of just star chasing.

There’s a thread on 247 where posters can ask Greg Biggins recruiting questions regarding west coast recruits and teams.

Sounds like Washington fans are really nervous about WR recruiting this year. They currently have a high 3* commit, but it looks like they’ve struck out with all their other top targets at the moment. Very weird given how good of a system they have and how well they recruit.

Can we trade them 2 WRs and a CB for a DT and an OT. We can even throw in a PWO long snapper if they want. (y)

Speaking as a UW fan, they are nervous about WR recruiting because of a combination of striking out on targets and slow playing other targets.
- Josh Delgado has tried to commit to UW twice but they wouldn't take it so he looks like he will be moving on to Oregon.
- Mychah Pittman had been begging for an offer, we finally offered back in May and he unofficially visits couple weeks back and was supposed to officially visit this week. But UW coaches cancelled the visit and wanted him to visit in fall. He has know eliminated us and is down to Oregon and Florida.
- Puka Nucua was anthor WR they offered last month and he visited couple weeks back as well. But they missed on him as USC got his commitment this week.
- Kennedy Lewis a WR from Texas who really impressed them during there camp was going to offically visit the weekend but he just committed to TCU.
- The only 2 WR left on there board is Kyle Ford who they love but he shown little interest in UW and Joe Ngata who they were leading for but now Clemson leads. They have only one spot left which is why they are being picky but concern is that they are being too picky and will miss out on everyone. As far as Matt Lubick criticism, it's just fans over reacting. We brought in 3 4 star WR last year and 2 4 star WR the year before. I understand the concern from UW fans but most of it is over reaction. They did the same thing last year with DL recruiting and wanted our DL coach fired during fall. Then we finish with 3 4 star DL and he is already off to a great start this year and everybody loves him.

We’ll take your DL coach off your hands.

Ha, no thanks. He's killing it right now. We currently lead or at the top for Faauti Tuitele, Jacob Brandes, Siaki Iaka and Stephon Wright. Then you add in his Hawaii recruiting which we are doing very well in and his poly recruiting which we are also doing well in. Right now Washington is doing really well recruiting both OL and DL which is why I think its silly Washington fans are concerned who the last WR spot is going to.

Former 5* WR leaving Cal

Wow. That was one of the most celebrated recruits they'd landed in the past 5 years. Huge failure for the program.

Don't know what went on with the staff change and him, but he went from 50 catches as a true frosh in 2016 to 7 catches for all of 2017. He played the first 2 games and then didn't play the rest of the season. Sounded like kind of a made up injury (unspecified "soft tissue" the coaches didn't want to discuss).

CU needs to step their picture game up on officially visits. These UW pics are incredible. I’ve also seen a lot of dope Oregon pics from visits.

We just use a lame white background, and they don’t even crop the photo correctly. You can see the white screen in the photos. That’s not how you get dope pics!

Agreed! This is part of stepping up and hiring people in marketing/social/creative.

Our brand is playing catch up and this is a way to change perception relatively easily. CU needs to invest some more money into Football marketing. CU Video was amazing in its prime- we need to get back to that level to properly show how amazing the CU experience is.

Mods, can we ban this post?

Okay. Do “we” think that’s good or bad - all else aside? Is mobility more important than size, or are they just gross to look at? Is he wrong on this, IYO?

(I know that’s a lot of questions at once for you, but most of us are used to extrapolating from your three word answers, so... no need to leave your comfort zone.)

Mobility and size are both important, but MM has routinely sacrificed size in a big way for "mobility," and yet the OL looks routinely looks outclassed in athleticism.

The whole approach to offense (tempo above all else) is flawed.
