2020 Pac-12 and National Recruiting Thread

Sav'ell Smalls (Seattle) eliminated Washington from his list of schools yesterday. Only schools on the west coast he is considering are Oregon and WSU.

DJdj Uiagalelei, the top QB in the country out of Bosco also narrowed his list down to Oregon and Clemson.

Since Rosengarten is deciding between Washington and Oregon, I’ve been reading some of the twitter/247 battles between those two fanbases. Hilarious watching them trying to decide which school is better (or worse?) at choking.

Rosengarten committed to UW on his visit and should announce on Friday. Big recruiting win for UW considering they were going up against there rivals and the OL class is weak this year on the West Coast especially at the tackle position.

Along with the sunshine, there’s gonna be a little rain sometimes.

Oregon is trending for 5* ILB Justin Flowe, although USC is still trying to land him this weekend on an OV.

Washington has actually held strong after Petersen resigned.

USC is mostly limping to the finishing line.

ASU is trending up as ESD approaches.

Utah is also poised to finish strong next week and into February.

Apparently UCLA's QB recruit was downgraded due to a pretty average senior season, so Chip has tried to land either 5* Bryce Young or 4* CJ Stroud late, but neither is even giving UCLA the time of day. This is a year after Chip blew it with Jayden Daniels. Hilarious.

Is it weird that an offensive genius doesn't make and trust his own evaluation?

4* RB Jase McClellan (Aledo, TX) appears to be leaning towards alabama. He had been a land thieves commit for 2 years.

I'm hearing rumors that up to 6 OU players will be suspended, including the first and second string RB's.

Bad day to be a land thief fan.

NM- wrong thread.

We’re still getting murdered nationally unfortunately. SEC with 10 top 25 classes and 6 of the top 10. B10 with 3 teams and B12 with 2 teams before we see a P12 team at 14.

B10, ACC, SEC have 25 of the top 31 classes and we have 3 and the B10 has 3.

Thankfully 33-36 is all P12 and we have room to improve still on that ranking.

Meh. SEC, Big 10, and Clemson dominate while Big 12, Pac-12, and ACC look pretty similar overall.

NSD News (you can use)
As was the case on this day last year, our focus is entirely on the early news from the early signing period.

And there is plenty of it ...

• The top story of the morning unfolded just after 11 a.m., when inside linebacker Justin Flowe of Upland, the highest-rated recruit on the west coast, picked Oregon over USC. The decision perfectly symbolizes the Trojans' overall recruiting failings -- they are ranked in the 70s nationally -- and the ability of Oregon (and others) to take advantage.

• Total exodus count as of 11:30 a.m.: Five of the top-six players in California have, or are expected to sign outside the Pac-12; same with the top-four prospects in Arizona.

• The most significant flip of the morning, which was widely expected, came from receiver Johnny Wilson, who had been committed to Oregon but signed with Arizona State. (The Sun Devils could finish the day with the best incoming collection of receivers in the conference.)

• Perhaps the most talented player to join the conference this winter isn't a high school senior but a transfer: Defensive end Antonio Alfano, a former five-star signee/enrollee at Alabama, officially joined the Colorado program. If he stays focused on football and school, Alfano could have a momentous impact on CU.

• EJ Smith, a four-star all-purpose back from Dallas and the son of Emmitt Smith, is headed to Stanford. This video of the announcement includes touching words from Emmitt on his son's upcoming journey.

• Top-rated defensive tackle to sign with the Pac-12 thus far: Omarr Norman-Lott (No. 35 nationally) with Arizona State.

• Top-rated offensive tackle to sign with the Pac-12: Myles Hinton (No. 8) with Stanford.

• Top-rated guard to sign with the Pac-12: Geirean Hatchett (No. 7) with Washington.

• Five-star prospects signed and sealed to the Pac-12: Washington outside linebacker Sav'ell Smalls, Oregon inside linebacker Noah Sewell, and Flowe.

• Pac-12 teams in the 247sports national rankings, which combine quantity and quality or recruits, as of 12 p.m:

14. Washington
15. Oregon
22. Stanford
32. UCLA
33. Cal
34. Colorado
35. Arizona State
47. Oregon State
56. Utah
57. Washington State
68. Arizona
78. USC

• Pac-12 recruiting classes based on average prospect ranking by Rivals (i.e., quality over quantity):

1. Stanford: 3.5
1. Oregon: 3.5
3. Arizona State: 3.4
4. Washington: 3.36
5. Cal: 3.04
6. Utah: 3.0
7. USC: 3.0
8. UCLA: 3.0
9. Colorado: 2.91
10. Oregon State: 2.9
11. Washington State: 2.89
12. Arizona: 2.53

• Number of four-star signees (per Rivals), by team:

9: Washington
8: Oregon
7: Stanford
6: ASU
3: Colorado and Cal
1: USC, UCLA, OSU and WSU
0: Arizona and Utah

• Top uncommitted/unsigned players within the Pac-12 footprint, with frontrunner:

CB Kelee Ringo (Scottsdale): Georgia
ATH Darnell Washington (Las Vegas): Georgia
WR Gary Bryant Jr. (Corona): USC
DE Jason Harris (Gilbert, AZ): Colorado
AP Daniyel Ngata (Folsom): ASU

man asu.. they really did good this year. They are going to be a thorn in our side upcoming seasons...SO glad we beat their ass' this season.

Yeah, can’t argue that as the rankings show that as B10 and SEC had 19 of those 31 and they dominate the top 50 teams. I was a little surprised the ACC had 6 of the top 31, they recruited really well this year as a conference.

I think the P12 still has a chance to finish pretty good though, a few teams still have guys who can and will commit. Would be nice to see 4-5 teams get into that top 25 though instead of 2.

perusing the top 25 of CA recruits on 247, Oregon definitely stands out along with all of the talent leaving the P12. But what also stands out is ASU's presence. They hauled in a number of guys and look to be in prime position to add several more. Antonio Pierce needs to go away ASAP
