And a 2020:

While updating the threads for WBB players we knew had Buff offers, came upon this webpage - https://wbbblog.com/2018/07/17/2020-class-recruiting-news-updates/. Included in it-

"
Offers Reported in July for 2020 Prospects, Part 1

  • Madison Bartley, 6-3 F, Kettering Fairmont HS (OH): Cincinnati, Cleveland State, Colorado, Dayton, Florida Atlantic, Toledo, Western Michigan, Wichita State
...
"

A little more on her-
HUDL page - http://www.hudl.com/profile/7295066/Madison-Bartley

Maxpreps high school stat page - http://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/mad...nzwY6g/gendersport/girls-basketball-stats.htm
(Doesn't look like her team submitted stats for the 2017/18 season, so only stats showing for her are her freshman year.)

A short writeup after "The 15th annual Classic in the Country" (https://www.bluestarmedia.org/classic-wrap/) -

"
Madison Bartley – 2020 – 6-3 – Forward – Kettering Fairmont – Effective with lots of effort at the #4…Smart, knows what she’s looking for…Agility challenges some defensive match-ups…Posts hard and understands angles down low…Can run the floor with the perimeter players…Works for rebound position…Strength will come

That is Raoul's blog. His seems to be the most comprehensive information I can find.

If you looked at his transfer list, Sara Castro has no school listed as where she might be playing.

Sara Castro's new school identified. Best wishes to her.

Per the below, the Buffs have been named one of the final 6 for 6'3" F Maliyah Johnson from Houston. (Prospects Nation (see below) have her ranked the #71 player in her class.) Looks like her high school team is Summer Creek , while she plays her AAU / club ball with Cy Fair.

From the 2nd tweet below, she was offered by CU back on July 14th. (Hopefully she'll decide to come to Booulder and join her Cy Fair teammate Allysa LaFontaine, who verbally committed to the Buffs around July 13th.)

One of the local Houston papers named her the "All-Greater Houston Girls Player of the Year " (https://www.chron.com/sports/highsc...-Creek-s-Maliyah-Johnson-the-AGH-13707626.php).

A Q & A with her from back in March - https://www.chron.com/sports/highsc...-Creek-s-Maliyah-Johnson-the-AGH-13707626.php

We don't have a 2022 Recruiting Page up yet, so I thought I would post this here. I hope we are recruiting Lauren Betts from Centennial, CO. #1 Recruit in the country for 2022. 6'7 Post Player.

That’s the type of BB recruit who can transform a program.

Attitude toward recruiting her needs to be “whatever it takes.”

Buffs looked to have offered Sophia (or Sophie) Gerber, an ~5'10" guard from Scottsdale AZ (Desert Mountain HS).

Unless I'm missing something, I don't like the sounds of another 2020 offer at this point. The early signing period starts in about 2 weeks. The roster is at 13 this fall with Q being the only senior. That leaves room for 3 scholarship players under the 15 scholarship limit. And they already have 3 verbals for 2020. Unless someone else is graduating early, this would mean one of the other 12 players on the roster is leaving or they lost one of the 3 verbals. Unless someone is not going to be on scholarship.

Looks like this young woman has chosen Texas A&M.

2019 NLI cover

"
BOULDER—Colorado women's basketball head coach JR Payne announced the addition of three student-athletes as part of the 2020 recruiting class on Wednesday.

The Buffaloes welcome the addition of Frida Formann, Kylee Blacksten and Alyssa Lafontaine.

"I am extremely excited to announce our signing class for 2020," Payne exclaimed. "We are signing three remarkable young women. Frida, Allysa and Kylee embody everything great about being a student-athlete and will have a huge impact on our program and community moving forward."

Looks like Sophie Gerber has now committed to Colorado, per Raoul

I still don't get it. Since the scholarship limit is 15, either she or one of the other players already here will not be on scholarship next season or a second player, in addition to Q who is the lone senior, will be leaving.

Looks like CU currently has 13 players on scholarship. IIRC they could have up to 15, so they have room for Gerber.

My question is what role does she potentially fill that someone on the roster already doesn't? Is she that good of a three-point shooter?

Current roster has 13 players. One senior in Q. So starting point for 2020 roster is 12. Three players signed NLIs in November so that takes the roster to 15. Then add Sophie Gerber and you are at 16. Are you saying that you know that some of the current players are not on scholarship?

My bad. I didn't count the signees. So you are are to something. It would seem that someone is going to be leaving or Gerber is going to be a walk-on which seems unlikely.
