Was waiting for @Duff Man to do this one but I finally said enough is enough 🤪 some of these answers may change with potential grad transfer additions. Also, if Seaton is too obvious of an answer for a couple of these, feel free to asterisk it and give a 2nd choice.

Most impactful freshman in ‘24: Seaton (he’s going to play the most of the freshman. Second place will be Drelon Miller or Welch. They have the most snaps available for the roles they’ll likely play.)

Most impactful transfer in ‘24: Will Sheppard or Lajontay Wester (feel like they’ve been a bit forgotten about because of the rightful focus on getting LBs. Still, either is expected to be the no. 1 and take some heat off Travis. Huge role. Second place is any number of the DL as individuals or the OL as a unit)

Most exciting in ‘25 (who needs a year?): Brandon Davis-Swain (Needs a year to see where his body goes and determine whether he leans out into a big edge or grows into a penetrating 3-tech. I see the latter but I get the sense I’m in the minority. Second Place Kam Mikell)

Highest ceiling: Quency Wiggins (I think Seaton takes this too but wanted to talk about someone else. Wiggins has a H-Wt-S that the rest of our rushers just don’t have)

Highest floor: Nwankwo (tons of starts. Fire hydrant strength. We know what we’re getting and needed it bad. Second place BJ Green)

Most underrated: Preston Hodge ( the forgotten 4-star. Second place is Eric Brantley. He may be short but he’s muscular and twitched up. Had great success in one of the best football states in the country. He can turn into BJ green pt. 2)

Maybe a better time for this thread was around now, with all (mostly all?) of the spring transfers included with the fall class. Any changes for people who have already answered (some outbound players)? Anyone else want to share their opinions?

I had Metayer as my most underrated :cautious:. I think I’ll change that to Rayyan Buell.

Here is my updated, I changed my approach:

Most impactful freshman in ‘24: Seaton (he looks to start), also Welch looks like he may will have impact. Miller can be great.
Most impactful transfers in ‘24: The entire Dline--if those guys create havoc, defensive issues may resolve immeasurably. Same for the Oline.
Most exciting in ‘25 (who needs a year?): Wiggens
Highest ceiling: Seaton (he may be here for 2 years then NFL) or Miller (if he stays for 4).
Highest floor: Whoever plays as ILBs/TE. Although Metayer bonked, I think we have guys that can put a hand in the dirt. Outside of Bentely, the added ILBs have to be better than what departed--IMO the floor is better with this position group.
Most underrated: McKinney, he looks to be playing right away--great pick-up.

Overall, I'm happy with the transfer class. We are rated #1 transfer class (Rivals, On3, ESPN) & #6 (247). IMO, the pundits suck. By my count, CU landed like 23-26 guys rated in the Top-20% of the portal--that is where the great P64 teams are signing. They are guys that are bigger, stronger and fast + more P4 experience. By all rating services, CU has the #1 overall class in the B12. That says something. Now it is onto coaching, putting the pieces together and executing.
