You'd think the son of a former NFL QB would have better ball positioning in his drops. Sweet lord, every throw is coming from the hip. If I'm a DC I'm telling my guys aim for the waist every time you get near him. You'll likely get the sack and the ball.

Sure, but he’s a sophomore in high school.

Which, again, for a son of a NFL QB, is unfathomable that his base fundamentals were ever allowed to stray.

Edit: after watching the tape, I don't see the issue. His release is fine, and quite quick. Perhaps not textbook, but certainly not waist level.

Not a lot to go by but this tape makes it look like Kitna Sr had a tendency to drop the ball down close to the belt level on many plays so it wouldn't be a surprise if he son does something similar.

At the same time he has spent much of the time since he retired coaching so you would think he could see a problem with fundamentals in his son and coach them out.

Right?! That's my point. Kid has a good arm and good size, but his mechanics are meh. I fear for Dak's progression in Dallas if Kitna is his QB Coach.

He looks a lot better as a Sophomore than that kid from Palmer(Class of 19) looked in his sophomore year?

Should add here that we are jumping to some strong conclusions based on limited information.

As a RS Freshman he is how old, probably 19, maybe 20.

Our defense lawyer friends here will tell us that overcharging is common from many DA offices with the expectation of pleaing the charges down.

Again we don't know. He may have some really disgusting and inappropriate stuff. He may may also have had some pictures on his drive of a couple ex-girlfriends naked while they are still 17 which is in most states considered pornography. It may be images of sub-18 girls engaging in a sex act, again very illegal but also something that is far from rare and with everyone having a phone something that gets recorded and passed around.

These are criminal acts. He should know better.

Point is though that the severity of the actions are still unknown.

Now that this has become national news though even if him having the images was consensual and on the low end of the severity range it will be hard for him to find a school willing to give him a second chance.

If the facts indicate something more serious, children of younger ages, violence, forced acts, etc. then no empathy for him what so ever. Put him away where he can't continue to offend.

Charges sound awful but it could be pics of a girlfriend when they were both 17.

He's ****ed because the words "child pornography" are going to stick with him forever, but I remember when there was a big thing at Cañon City High School with students texting nudes to each other, and they at least initially charged everyone over the age of 18 with possession of child pornography if they had nude pics of anyone under 18.

That's not saying it's not actually something a lot sicker, but I would lay dollars to donuts that it's someone in high school who didn't want her picture floating around and went to the police about it. Which is a ****ed up thing in and of itself, but it is not the same as what the words "child pornography" conjures up in people's minds.

As someone who grew up when every kid had an iPhone, this happened all the time as photos floated everywhere.

Definitely need context on this before we condemn

Kids were sending nudes starting in 7-8th grade until 12th grade. I’d say that the majority of kids in high school have some form of child pornography on their devices. Including their own pictures.
