Winfree was from Jersey but spent his freshman year at Maryland (Honorable mention for All-Big-10 Freshman) before transfering Coffeyville and then to CU.


It's been a long time since we had a HS commit from Maryland. The DC three is the closest I can think of.

When is the last time we got a recruit from Maryland?

It’s been a long time. In fact, I can’t recall any over the last couple of decades (not saying there wasn’t one, but I can’t recall). We did land several from the district (the so-called DC3 - Ken Crawley, De’Jon Wilson and John Walker, and Sherrard Harrington the year before) due to a connection with the former strength coach under Embree.

D.C. was originally Maryland land, if that counts.
