I understand people hacking a bit on players at the big Uni’s who are stuck in backup roles, but I feel the opposite way: these kids clearly had the raw talent to get offers at (usually) all the major programs. Sitting behind established starters, or not getting the playing time they hoped for, can change a kid’s motivation and outlook. A new environment can offer a fresh start and new motivation to put it all in to get to that next level.

This kid has all the size and athleticism you want in the center of your DL. If he gets the “want to” moving, he could be force for us.

Mr, Barnes seems to me like a lot of the transfers last year. SEC backup with a great prep pedigree and ranking that didn’t see the field much before moving on to CU. Hopefully he is still developing and adds real value to the DT rotation.
