So, the Buffs need to get over last night's loss quickly and work to get win #1 today at noon against a TOUGH opponent in the #9 ranked Florida State Seminoles.

Yesterday afternoon, FSU showed good fight in the 1st 2 sets against Oklahoma, where they were behind early, but came back in both for a 25-21 25-23 21-25 25-18 4 set win over the Sooners. FSU's senior 2nd team All American Outside Hitter Nicole Walch had a very good match, with 22 kills (hitting .317) and 9 digs. At least based on the stats (no publicly available stat to see how good they were at getting touches, etc.), it doesn't look like FSU had a great blocking match (maybe only ~7 for the whole match?), so maybe the Buffs can get the offense going better than it did against USD, whose block bothered the Buffs most of the night.

I hope that The Buffs get over that ****-show immediately.

I don't think we fully appreciate how versatile Taylor was for us last year. She was very comfortable anywhere on the court. Alexis knew that she'd be targeted by serves this season--nobody should have been surprised by that last night.

This match becomes a lot more important after last night. Let's go Buffs!

Match less than 10 minutes away.

As with last night, no sign of a band today, and the drum stand isn't even set up yet. (Assume they're still getting organized early in this school year, but hopefully they'll be able to come out and start supporting the team soon.)

We look better to start up 6-3 but Joslyn Hayes looks she just sprained her ankle.

Joslyn Hayes just went down. It doesn't look good. (She couldn't put any weight on it.)

Tied now at 1-1 in sets. Some pretty ugly passing that set, and the block wasn't helping.

Totally different team. It's nice to have so many options, but you have to have one you can go to when you need it. They don't have that right now. Gonna take some time to get this figured out.
