I think that was their problem when they had the last coach. Their problem now is that this was probably the best replacement they could have found for him, and it's only going downhill from here...

I think they'll probably go with Sonny's son next in hopes that he can re-capture Sonny's magic.

P.S. I don't agree that Hawk would do well there. Sonny's blueprint was to build the foundation from in-state players who were hungry to beat the CU team that didn't offer them and played with a chip on their shoulders. They were tough. Wyoming's been following that recruiting model and is doing better than CSU while CSU chases the leftover leftovers from FL, TX and CA. Hawkins is not respected by in-state HS coaches and could not recruit CO kids for them.

Hawkins has a horrible reputation in Colorado. He is best known for spouting a bunch of bull****. If he were unknown, he'd be OK. But he's not unknown. The high school coaches in Colorado know him and think he's a moron.

If Hawk ever gets another job, it'll be at a DII school.
