Compared to others? Have the Buffs had signing day surprises, aside from Sam Wilder?
Last year there was some chatter about some highly recruited guys like Crawley and Wright. Before that is was flipping Asiata and Nembot. So yeah, there have been some interesting stories that went down to the wire since Wilder IMO.
Hmmm.. Crawley verballed a few weeks before signing day. Yuri Wright the same weekend. All the people who signed in 2012 were known before signing day.
In 2011, there were a few who were surprises, I guess.
Darrel Scott provided a hat trick on signing day?
Remember when Cody Hawkins' decision between CU and Boise came right down to signing day? Would Hawk lose a recruiting battle for an Elite 11 QB and his own son??
Losing Lucien hurt.
2011 had the Asiata flip leading up to signing day, Nembot deciding on signing day, and Devin Lucien also deciding on signing day. That was kinda nice.
I seem to remember Speedy's commitment coming out of left field. I coud be mistaken though.
Speedy's did. He was the first commit of the day and everyone was busy asking "Who?" Turned out to be one of the best of the class.
I agree that the Drama is not there this year. Of course if we knew what the surprise was it would not be a surprise. Maybe some 4 star will flip to us at the last minute...we can always hope.
I remember digging for Rodney's highlight tape. It was awesome. That tape just exploded across the CU boards.
I remember exploding when I saw that tape.
Yea, I remember how much we all hated him because he had such a poor offer list. Glad we don't do that anymore.
This year, the closest thing we will have to a signing day surprise will be Awuzie or Thompson.
