Ask a Beaver - Random thoughts from your newest member...

So I'll just keep asking questions, I guess:

Since UO has Junction City locked down, when you're looking for small-town chicks, do you cruise the high school in Philomath, or do you head up to Monmouth for some WOSC ladies?
Generally, when tired of the local skanks/sorisitutes we would head to Eugene to show them what real men were like.

Dear Beav:

How is it possible to be a university for over 100+ years without ever winning in football? Define winning.

If you are what you eat, is that good or bad? And, would Kant or Nietzsche approve? From an economic perspective, would Beav-dom be trickle down or more socialist in nature. I am asking for a friend. These kinds of questions are way over my head. Please stick to sports, booze, food and women.

Beaver:
Do you identify as a Fred Meyer shopper, or are you old-school Bi-mart? The nearest Bi-mart is probably 180 miles away, although growing up I did follow my parents around the Bi-mart while they procured ammo, prescription drugs and those green stamps. Fred Meyer is your one stop shop, but I'm more of a Costco, PCC, Trader Joe's, Safeway, Whole Foods kinda guy.

Follow-on question:

Is "setting choker" a major at OSU, or is it a minor in the forestry program. Yes.

You're no Beaver.

Not even the one in Albany?
During my 22 years in the Willamette Valley, Dutch Bros. was not a thing or at least a thing that I was aware of. Now, when I travel back to Corvallis for games and such, there is no coffee drinking on the agenda.

I don't know how much of this site you read, but Skiddy's on a roll lately and if I were you I'd... back...away...slowly...

I'm slow on the uptake but it's clear that dude has no life other than this bored. So kudos to him, even if he's still wrong.

What is a nub?

How do I upload an avatar pic?
1. One of the university's officially sanctioned nicknames of the nubs is bug eaters.
2. Avatars are reserved for people who annually donate $20 to keep the moderators of this fine website in hookers and blow pay for the duct tape and bailing wire that holds this two-bit website together. You get an avatar, access to some member only forums, and no ads. Sign up here.

If being right is wrong, I don't want to be right.

Feel free to set me free with your truth.

This whole black is not a color assertion of yours is mesmerizing in the context of the Nike style guideline link that you provided as evidence. No disrespect to Carl Sagan, but Nike clearly states "black" under your OSU's primary colors. If you got a problem with that, take it up with Nike.

On the name thing, a case could be made that Oregon State was dead last in the OSU sweepstakes. Consider Oklahoma State University officially strung those words together in that order as part of their official name a full four years before the folks in Corvallis landed on the Oregon State University name. This was 105 years and 11 names changes after your much esteemed institution opened its doors. If you have a problem with this analysis, take it up with Wikipedia. I'm just the messenger. I recognize Wikipedia isn't exactly high end academic research, so maybe you are right. I'm all ears for whatever discovery materials are useful in setting the record straight.

I haven't even started to address the point about which OSU is the lesser and which is the dominant. By which measures are you recommending that we use? Endowment? National championships? USNWR ratings? Olympians? Winning percentages? Research dollars? Stadium capacity? Athletic department profitability? Nobel prizes? Rivals recruiting ratings? Coaching salaries? Famous alum?

Thanks in advance for seriously crafting a response in a fashion that is worthy of OSU's [the Oregon one's] sterling reputation. Make all those Beavers who are lerking proud of their OSU degree with your brilliance. Tell the whole truth and shame the devil.
