Athlon's College Football Rankings: Pre-Spring Top 130 Teams

https://athlonsports.com/college-football/college-football-rankings-top-130-teams-pre-spring-2019
Here we go. One of the first preseason rankings of all 130 teams for 2019.

Spring football soon will be in full swing, with each team optimistic about the 2019 season.

Not sure I'd rank CU so low.
Outside of 2016, CU has given no one any reason to think we’d not finish last in the South. No idea if Tuck can win 6 this season but with the beefed up lines and lots of returning talent on O...I hope so!!

We'll see. I think it was a great hire though. Yes, in the beginning the hire seemed underwhelming to many. But after seeing what he is doing and the staff he is/has assembled, it looks to be a program now quickly going in the right direction.

It will take Riley a season or two for real progress to be made. Just look at how his recruiting is going so far this season. The class is only going to have 15-18 members, with the majority being strong 4**** recruits.

I guess pomp and circumstance over meaningless offseason accolades is the new husker thing. You were minting coins with your savior’s face on them last offseason and now you’re sitting here rubbing your little bird over the fact that you’re in the top 25...six months before a ****ing game is even played.

Congrats, asshole. You’re two-thirds of the way to a Life Championship.

I originally proposed that the Offical Nebraska Hate Thread be closed once it receives 6236 replies. Can we sweeten the pot by banning Surveyor at the same time?

“The defense is on the right track under coordinator Erik Chinander, but this unit enters the spring with questions to address at every level. A favorable schedule gives Nebraska a shot to double last year’s win total.”

This quote just shows how stupid the media and people truly are. The 19th best team has a “shot” to win 8 games? If that’s the case we’re in for some ****ty ****ing football. Especially when the 19th “best” team has the easiest schedule they’ve had in awhile.

In other news, Nebraska AD Bill Moos announced the installation of child pornography filters on all internet connections to the dorms housing student athletes. In addition, the University is forming a rapid electronics disposal team or R.E.D. teams who will be tasked with eliminating any evidence so that it cannot be seized by law enforcement. “We don’t need these unnecessary distractions from the work that our Lord and Savior Scott Frost is doing. In addition to prearranged legal services, we are taking the additional steps needed to shield our student athletes from any accountability. You never can be too careful, Go Big R.E.D.” Moos stated as he chugged a beer.

That ranking for CU is illogical given our recruiting rankings over the last 4 years. Not great recruiting but much better than 75th.

I suppose the ranking also considers the schedule. A better team against a tougher schedule vs a worse team vs a easy schedule, yada yada yada.

New coach and questions on the DL. It's not easy to convince people that CU is going to finish better than what they have done since joining the Pac-12.

Nebraska at 19...I'd say that there are some talented people working the Cornhusker propaganda machine. I think the break out season is not until next season thanks to an easier OOC schedule.

Those predictions will not matter on September 7th.
