Smart move by the Big 12-2

They gave him the extension to help him land a new TV deal.

Essentially, they are telling Bebe "alright, we gave you everything you need to go out and get us the $20 million per team deal you promised."

What network would payout a bunch of money to a lame duck conference?

B12 could be a lame duck, but what is the pressure to split? The top dogs are getting the money they feel they deserve and the little dogs are getting the best deal that the market has to offer. If they would have had better options when the deal went down they would have taken them. You think Other BCS conferences are coming hard for BU, ISU, etc? I think the only thing that ends the b12 is the end of the BCS.
