I think 96buff might have some choice words for you
Chess. I suck at it but like playing it.
Sorry, late to the thread. Somehow I never seem to make it below the Politics forum (I'm sure there is treatment for that).
I play with a group fairly regularly. Most of the people are a D&D group but we also do a lot of board games.
Our favorite in the last year has to be Zombicide. Cooperative dungeon crawl that is a blast.
One we played recently is The Thing: Infection at Outpost 31. If you are a fan of the movie, this one is really cool. You might even get to turn a flamethrower on a friend.
Just got pandemic. So cool. I’m loving the cooperative games. I think a murder mystery one might be cool. Any recommendations?
Pandemic is a favorite at our house. Got it as a gift and worried at first cause it seemed complicated - but it's not, and its a TON of fun.
Expansion for Gloomhaven coming up! I've been playing my campaign for Gloomhaven solo, and it is such a great game, even though there are a million rules to remember.
Played Codenames for the first time last night. Great fun, especially for two couples - one of those games where you realize just how differently each other thinks. Short learning curve too.
Biggest negative is that standard version requires exactly four people.
hokiehead and Mags give it
I have wood for sheep
Here is a local place to buy board games: https://timewellspentgames.com/
And this is a great resource to find new games. You can filter by number of players, length of game play, rating, etc.
Power grid is o e of the goats. Incredibly sophisticated I’d you want to go in depth and play it multiple times.
I own a lot of the games here. Haven’t had a group since I moved back to Colorado. 3+ hr board games aren’t for everyone.
For 2 players Twilight Struggle is the GOAT hands down. Such a wonderful game.
