I'm guessing that Mike MacIntyre wasn't thinking about the recruiting "star" system as he watched Niners linebacker Patrick Willis on Sunday night.

This is why I'm hopeful for MikeMac. He can win without highly ranked recruiting classes.

"Take a look at San Jose State, where his three teams finished 1-12 (2010), 5-7 (2011) and 11-2 (2012). In those three years, MacIntyre didn't have a recruiting class ranked higher than No. 99 nationally by Rivals.com."

Some good nuggets in an otherwise fluff article on where we will be placing our recruiting attention.

Says in there that Grossnickle and Thornton won't be back, hadn't seen that reported yet.

ya.. and notes that several players are waiting on medical clearance. The ever popular Medical scholarship rears its head (i.e. - kids go on medical to make the scholly situation work).

However, the notes about recruiting AZ are gonna make Duff happy.

If I had a nickel for everytime I said "I'm going to work that 'triangle area' hard"...

More often than not, it's an empty threat, but I still say it.

You can't do the job without the proper sized tool.

I'm starting to think this article might not really be about football. Or maybe it's a reference to Colt Brennan.

I don't think 'Bama addressed their long-term need at tight end. Stars aside.
