bsn BSN: Buffs fill biggest need of 2018 class

BOULDER – The Colorado Buffaloes have already added plenty of skilled players both on offense and defense in the 2018 recruiting class, but up to this point they had yet to fill their need on the defensive line. That changed on Thursday morning when Melekiola ‘Tava’ Finau, a three-star recruit out of Sacramento, CA, verbally committed to play for the Buffaloes.

Finau came to Boulder on his official visit this past weekend for the game and apparently liked it enough to commit right away despite having an official visit at Washington State set for late November.

The 6-foot-3 defensive lineman weighed in at 255 pounds during his visit and plans to grow even more to play as a down lineman in CU’s 3-4 defensive scheme.

The composite two-star recruit also held offers from Washington State, Boise State, Cal Poly, Fresno State, Hawaii, Montana State, Nevada, San Diego State, UC Davis and Wyoming.
